  1. Looking at your pics they could be st36s on the lure Bream can crush a decent treble but the trade-off with using the lighter gauge is you will hook more whiting and any bream that is just nipping at the lure has a better chance of being pinned in the lips
  2. Love surface fishing Your trebles look like a heavy gauge go lighter like owner st11s for a better hookup rate
  3. I cant comment on the sniper but I do have a 420 renegade sc powered by a 50hp 4st yammie and I love it The ride is very good in a bit of rough stuff and the stability is good as well with my 88kg on the front deck and my mates 100kg on the back It doesn't lean much at all due to the width of the hull I wont get into the debate on engines but my mates who do a lot more hours on the water than me are running yammies or hondas
  4. Nice outfit I don't think its too light as I use the same outfit and line and have pulled some good fish out of nasty spots the only difference is I use 4lb fc rock which has a much better abrasion resistance than the vanish
  5. Add your boat to your profile Then others can see it if interested without scrolling through members boats
  6. The way to fish the flats there is in a bit of wind afternoon north easters are good so the fish will be a bit less spooky Wade out and cast with the wind lightly weighted baits or my favourite lure for this is an austackle shinku in bondi brown or a tiemco stick minnow in 007 fished on 3lb flouro Run up tide preferred If there is no wind or very little I would fish a surface lure like my new favourite whiting one Luckycraft Sammy 55mm in stin shrimp
  7. Pan fried in butter with some lemon pepper seasoning is the best I've had even better eating when camping under the stars on Masthead or Wilson island
  8. Used to catch queenfish school mackerel and the odd wolf herring off the rocks at the southern end of Agnes Waters beach on 6kg spin outfits throwing metals
  9. Are you landbased at 1770 or out of a boat?
  10. I have one and have used gulp crabbies on hidden weights on it but not for any distance more for casting at pontoons and boat hulls It has 3lb powerpro braid and 4lb leader I also use it for throwing little sinking stick baits on 3lb flouro and I can get some distance with them The reel I use on it is a shimano stradic FI 1000 though I do think a 2000 sized daiwa would suit the rod better
  11. Ooops the smashbait colour is 12 not 11
  12. Sounds like the whole lot is bouncing not the boat on the trailer The springs are too light for that boat get some 3 leaf springs which are rated to 600kg and try that probably no reason to change the wheels
  13. It was no problem taking you out Rami and I don't mind all the questions It seemed a little quiet up on the flats I thought we would have got more fish in hindsight we probably should have looked a bit closer in to the mangroves The soft plastic you caught the trevally on were Gladiator smashbaits 7cm colour 11 and I was using squidgy lobbies colour dusk Outfits you were using were Shimano raider lure project vibe (a 2500 size reel suits this rod) shimano symetre 1500 reel with 4lb crystal fire line and 6lb sunline FC rock leader The lighter outfit was a raider lure project minnow with a stradic 1000 3lb powerpro braid and 4lb FC rock leader
  14. Doesn't matter if you are a beginner I will get to the ramp between 6am-6:30am
  15. Have a spot on my boat for tomorrow morning if anyone is interested Fishing Botany bay putting in at Oatley ramp Will fish Towra flats surface lures hardbodys and soft plastics
  16. Mine was only 385mm x 250mm x 210mm and he used offcuts from the fuel tanks he does
  17. I use a 1000 stradic on mine
  18. I've got one but only use it for fishing 3lb fluoro straight through and small sinking stickbaits Awesome rod for that
  19. Its all about strength where the outboard is attached All the weight of an outboard is up high where the motor is so a full transom is not just an extra piece of ally it needs to be engineered and strong enough to hold that weight up higher otherwise the transom will crack
  20. Might be a silly answer but did you loosen the breather on the fuel tank
