  1. Do you use the same colour in the transam? Surprised you haven't got a jew yet Baby blackfish colours are pretty good Drop the size of the vibe for bream in the Georges 40mm cranka vibes are working
  2. Yep Ive never seen one of them before
  3. yeah that's a steelback Your pic is not that clear with the boga grips in its mouth
  4. Its a Steelback Used to catch a lot of them in winter in Gladstone harbour
  5. Thanks for the feedback guys I enjoyed parting with some knowledge and you guys asking questions makes it a lot easier
  6. I cant believe no one mentioned powerpro I use 3lb powerpro on all my light reels and have never had a problem Even the outfit I use for heavy structure only has 3lb on it which is also used for jew I just up the leader to 8lb flouro and have never had a problem I have used a lot of different braids in the past in both fused and woven(way too expensive and prone to windknots) and so far the powerpro has proven to be the best for me
  7. We would have been off the flats by then and were up around woolaware
  8. My neighbour and I were on Towra flats on sunday and got some good fish Big trevs a few bream and some flatties on a variety of lures Cant believe the car park was full didn't seem to be many boats out We put in at Oatley and there wasn't many there Couple of nice flounder you guys got
  9. I should be on the bay on sunday most likely sitting on Towra flats
  10. Yep have caught some of those there along with big whiting bream(won a teams tournament there in 2010 with a mate 5 bream 5.15kg)and even rat kings on the outer edges
  11. Not in the conditions I was fishing in It was quite choppy
  12. I was bored at home so I took the boat for a spin with my eldest daughter Got to Oatley boat ramp around 2pm and shot out to Towra flats Nice noreaster blowing which was fine for the flats Managed a few bream and then had a good hit that took off on a nice run thought it may have been a good bream but it was running in a straight line away from the boat not very bream like it turned out to be a nice flattie measuring 72cm well short of my pb but a good one none the less Lure was an atomic deep crank in muddy prawn
  13. 2inch gulp crabbies in camo are deadly around pilons and marinas
  14. You might start at two but it always ends up more I have seven light tackle estuary outfits
  15. I run a stradic 1000 on my drunkenmonkey with 3lb sniper flouro
  16. I have a drunkenmonkey and love using it but it is only a 1kg-2kg rod and I use it specifically for 3lb flouro throwing small stick minnows and light HBs so depending on what you want to use it for the slightly heavier itchy twitchy could be the better rod for you
  17. Cant see why it would be illegal if you compare it to a baitjig with 6 hooks for catching yakkas and slimys
  18. 60mm squidgy fish in rainbowtrout on a betts spin

    Whiting

The whiting should be on the beaches at the moment a rising tide and beach worms should get you some Lures my most consistent lure for whiting is an austackle shinku in bondi brown or the more expensive tiemco stick minnow in 007 other good ones are ecogear sx40 in colour 309 and the ecogear zx 30 or zx 35 shrimp blades you don't need to work these lure fast just a couple of flicks and pauses Do a search on whiting on surface and you will find plenty of info
  20. Hydrowave have a new mini version coming out soon perfect for kayaks 2 sounds a freshwater and a saltwater version
  21. Chances of being out in those conditions is rare(why were you out there with a southerly coming?) and theres a huge difference between your tinny and a 24ft glass boat You cant compare them and Ive spent a lot of time in both Low freeboard isn't a great problem the length of the boat lets it ride on top of the chop without dropping down into it to give you an example in a bream tournament on the bay we went from the cooks river to the georges in a 30knt southerly in a 21ft US bass boat and it sat on top of the chop at 45mph no problem
  22. I think you guys are underestimating that boats capabilities it will handle a good chop without any problems
