  7. Hi I don't know where to ask if this is a good buy? Owner said it's virtually new aluminium and it looks new (roughly car length) I have no idea if it's a good value as it doesn't come with trailer or motor. What do the raiders think? Also if it is a good value, I'm guessing I need a trailer and a motor. If so roughly how much will it cost me? PS anyone used 350z for trailer? Thanks guys hopefully if everything falls in line, I'll be a boat owner yeah!!! Mark
  8. I've been noticing since last 3 weeks, the water has dropped in temp and fish I used to see while squidding, have disappeared, let alone most night coming home bit empty Do they take the great whatever current and go north??? or are there pockets of warm current they go to? Curious, Mark
  9. could be large tailor. I struggled to get a hook through the bone so next time I catch a tailor, I'm not going anywhere near it's mouth! lol
  10. Who are you kidding??? The Bed tank was build by ATM and shown on Tanked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-iFuuamcJs The Coffee Table tank is available from http://www.aquavim.com/Table%20aquariums.htm
  11. oh forgot please pm me and thanks swordfish.
  12. Hi fellow sydney raiders, I need a long telescopic pole for a little project. So if you have a broken, unused rod taking up space in your garage, please donate or sell it to me cheap. I only need the pole, no guide etc need as I will be removing them anyway so as long as the pole is good, I'm want it Longer the better. (size does matter) lol Cheers, Mark
  13. I managed to put a hook through the tip of the head but it was bit difficult due to the bone. Also the bait was bitten in half but the fish took the bottom half so no hookup Can someone tell me how to live bait a cuttlefish properly. Cheers, Mark
  14. nice, these are loligo, similar to arrow but they have bigger diamond shaped mantle.
  15. Quick report, Was there last night and 80cm jewie came out. 2 more good fish was lost Also was using cuttlefish and something bit it in half, right through the bone! I'm thinking jewie don't have teeth to do this so most likely some sort of shark? Jew was caught towards the end of high tide, also rain seemed to help. Oh FYI it wasn't my rod that had all the action, but still good fun Cheers, Mark
  16. seriously I want one for my tank! where did you catch it?
  17. I've always thought they have tiny scales but my mate opinion differs. Please help clarify. Thanks, Mark
  18. I used to catch them in penrith river using bread. If you need to cast far, I used to use this cicadar lure (for bass fishing) with bread on the hook. I also have poddy mullet in my fishtank and I can tell you they eat anything! lol
  19. Most don't live for more than 2 years. Not sure how long this one will last but I will be able to study them now, because as of this morning this happened...
  20. Sure it squirts First time it did I panicked but not they dumpling ink doesn't spread/disperse, it just stays in a clump. I initially sucked it up with a hose. Next time it inked it did nothing and the ink just disappears and doesn't effect the water or the inhabitant. Predator, if you saw the ad on mass or petlnk, it's mine Got few and hopefully in few months I'll have 100's as Dumpling laid eggs everywhere! Predator and Scienceman, envious of your reef tank, tried corals but kills soooo many so going to change mine to cuttlefish, squid, occy tank. Just need to get non-bluering occy as I still have nightmares about it crawling out and biting me!
  21. I think I paid like $150 but I got them second hand. Depending on what you keep, it can cost little to well over thousand for even a small tank like mine. Squid was caught so it was free
  22. I'm a keen fisho and also into aquarium hobby. My mates thinks 2 hobbies contradicts one and other but I think they go hand in hand I've also recently got into Marines as I have found so many weird and amazing things I caught on my fishing trips Anyway here's one of my oddball tank m5a-VuM_Mts So anyone else started a marine tank because of fishing?
  23. well technically speaking it's not southern or arrows, it's dumpling squid (smaller ones). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5a-VuM_Mts
  24. I have a squid in my fishtank and I can tell you they hunt by site and not smell. However I think they can taste it by touch as soon as they touch they can tell if it's food or not. Berley will probably work indirectly by attracting yakas which the squid can see.
