  1. Great way to break in the new rod and reel combo, First king on a lure and first fish on a popper. Thanks for a good morning on the water and a break from the heat at home. Sitting in a boat at the end of a runway with jumbo jets roaring overhead and waiting for the tail wind to rush over you sure beats air conditioning and its free, until the government thinks of an other way to sting us to keep cool, and to top the morning off got a phone call from a mate in Townsville telling me that he is safe and well after the storm. cheers Stephen(Reggie the Rabbit)

  10. Just back from a wonderful 4 days at Glenbawn dam. First I would like to thank Stewy for the invite several months ago .I have never been Bass fishing and had no idea what to expect. Every body keep telling me just wait for the first bass to hit your lure. Hit my lure it was more like the whole forward pack of my beloved bunnies gang tackling it all at once. WOW. I was teamed up with Chris Smith in his boat. And he taught me so much many thanks Chris. On the trip up it rained most of the way but it cleared up for our first session that afternoon. After many casts I hooked my first ever Bass and it went a very respectable 38 cm I was wrapped. Finished with 2 fish that afternoon and very happy with my for effort. Up 4.30 next morning hit the water by 5.00 and finished with 8 fish .The afternoon session I got 12 and having a ball.. The sessions started to blend together by the end of the trip I ended up with 39 Bass biggest being a massive 44 cms which pulled like a freight train, and 2 Yellow belly the biggest was 52 cms . Which was my first Yellow Belly. So over the 4 days I scored 39 bass 2 yellow belly what a way to start my venture to the sweet water. So again many thanks to all the crew for passing on your knowlage and making it a most wonderfull trip. Cheers Stephen (Reggie the Rabbit) My first ever bass 38 cm My First Yellow Belly 51 cm My biggest Bass 44 cm
  11. From the day i got my boat we had one rule with my wife when i am out by my self i wear my jacket after a couple of minutes you dont even know you have it on.When the new rules started i was talking with a work mate about it she will be right mate he said.Yesterday he rang me telling me that he was lucky to be alive. While At ANCHOR at Juno Point he fouled a line around his prop,he lifted the motor to cut the line away a small wave made him loose his balance.he fell chest first onto the prop then into the water.Lucky for him only bad bruising it could have been a lot worse if he hit his head we all would have been reading about it in the news.I asked him did he have his jacket on we all know the answer .He is out today buying auto life jackets for the whole family Cheers Stephen ( Reggie the Rabbit).

  17. Sorry about the late posting after we got home from the river i had minor computer trouble. As stewy said no jews we fished hard for them got a swag full of small flathead and some good EPs then the snook turned up the biggest going just over 50 cm.Bad luck on the jewie down the Cooks you did not have your net man with you.Nice all the same that place is firing up. HOW MANY DAYS TILL GLENBAWN ?????? I bet you can tell me the hours.Cheers Stephen (Reggie the Rabbit)

  19. A great day greeted us as we hit the ramp at 6.00am.The plan was to fish the Cooks river and catch me a Jewie. We headed up river slowly casting soft plastics at the banks.A slow start then after Stewy pulled in 3 small Flathead one after the other,I started to think here we go again Stewy catches all the fish and i man the landing net, make the coffee and take the photos. But then my line went tight and in come a fair size bream, then a bigger bream. This set the pattern for the next 4 hours lots of bream of different sizes stacks of Flathead including 2 double hookups.than the trevally turned up 4 good size fish landed,a couple of small tailor rounded off the catch.Approx 40 fish caught we stopped counting.Still no jewies. All the fish were caught on soft Plastics, Blood worm wriggler was the best proformer.Every time we rubbed a little "S" factor on the lure it got hit soon as it hit the water. The river was like a sheet of glass and looked very clean BUT WE DID NOT TAKE ANY FISH OUT OF THE COOKS RIVER.On the way back to the ramp Stewy said we would stop at the last bridge and have one last go for a Jewie And yes as on que Stewy hooks up a nice Jewie, 200 meters from the ramp.Photos taken and off she swam.My jewie will come just not today. As alway had a great day on the water with Stewy and i learn something each and every time we go out. Cheers stephen (Reggie the Rabbit)
  20. We have just come back from the Whitsundays. What a fantastic part of the world. We meet up with our friends Alan & Rosanna who live in Townsville. We meet in Arlie Beach and took out a 38 foot twin hull motor boat for 7 nights. We stayed at a different location each night. We encountered all kinds of weather,We had a ball swimming hiking, and fishing. On the fishing front it was not great, we caught lots of reef fish most were let go.I must say that Green zone are a pain in the butt. You have to check your map all the time to see if you are breaking the law by fishing in a no fishing zone.i was pleased that my first cast with my new rod i got off Swordy landed me a nice 40cm Coral trout.Went great on the barby with the garlic and chilli prawns. Also i managed serveal new spiecies.Coral Trout,Red throat Empirer, and a 60 cm turtle. we saw whales, and a marlin swimming on the surface at the back of Hayman Island. In all we covered just over 300 klm on the water. Then it was back home and have been in track pants and ugg boot since.Would do the trip again and the company we used were so helpfull. Cheers Stephen (Reggie the Rabbit)

  23. Its been a couple of months since i have fished my local water ways.I got a call from Swordy, lets go fishing we are now on the same shift cycle at or work places.Which is great as we can fish mid week away from the weekend crowds. We meet up with Jorgie and a reletive of his wife, Mr Kim visiting from Korea.Mr Kim is an elderly gentleman with very little english. But what he lacked in english he sure made up with his fishing skills after a slow start for him he got into the swing and was pulling the E P s one after the other. We fished the George river first trying for a Jewie with no luck, then we headed to the EP holes My first two cast hooked up and Stewy was into them as well.We moved about and caught EPs at each stop. They were caught on blades and Soft Plastics. Thanks for a great day on the water and Jorgie and mr Kim it was a pleasure meeting you both.
  24. Hi Stewy and Donna Please add Fiona and my self to the list. Also yell out if you need any help. Cheers Stephen and Fiona
