  1. Uncle Chop chop, Love it! Nice catch there and well done, Paul
  2. Humesy, First I hope you score a nice jewfish from your new boat, congrats on the purchase. This is an open and shut case. If you gave your word you should keep it. "I said I would keep the name out of respect and I think it is the right thing to do." If your conscience nag you it's because there is something wrong and inside you care about doing the right thing. If you said you'd do it then do it. Enjoy your new boat, Paul

    Boat Lisence

Hi Guys, Im new to boating and want to hire a tinny. I understand you need a boat lisence so where do you get them and how much do they cost? Thanks in advance, Paul
  12. G'day all, Im looking for a land based spot to catch slimies (slimy mackeral). I'll share a spot I know first: Camp cove/Lady Jane beach at Watsons bay. Fish off the rocks south of Lady Jane beach on a warm, windless night and NOT a full moon. It tends to fish well in summer and is hit and miss. When the fish are there it is non stop bites but other times it is dead. Stand out baits are mullet gut. I've done well on cubed pilchards. I fish with no sinker and a glow stick on the end of my line about 150mm above my hook. OK so there you go, if anyone has a spot of their own let me know. As an incentive PM my secret spot at Watsons bay to the first reply. Cheers, Paul
  13. Hey all, Just saw 'Casino Royale' the new James Bond movie. It's good stuff, the actor playing Bond is a real cold bastard and the action is hard and in your face. Move over Pierce Brosnan, this guy leaves you for dead. Good movie, good story and even got some good one liners. Paul. PS Not one for little kids or squemish types
  14. Hey all, Does anyone know what the warranty is for Strudwick rods? the tip of my Sic stic snapped off last night (lifting a fish up clifton gardens wharf). I'd like to know how long the warranty it is valid for and whether you can send rods by post or drop into the tackleshop. Cheers, Paul
  15. Namesy, You make it sound so easy, great report!
  16. That report puts a smile on my dial. Glad too see you weren't busted off. Cheers, Paul
  17. G'day, I've got a 7ft sic stic in the 1 - 3kg range and find it a great rod. Have caught trevs, bream and flatties so it hasn't been given a tough workout, but it has handled all fish to date well and is comfortable to use. I got mine for $100 so you sound like you've scored a good deal. Are you sure you don't want to splurge on a schmick reel? Go on, you know you want to...Daiwa caldia kix, capricorn are nice reels around $200- 250.
  18. Contact Dunphy sports fishing at Carringbah directly and bypass the retail shop, you'll save time and will be looked after by the guys there. They sorted out my faulty Ultegra 4000 spool straight away. Top service from them and no questions asked. Paul Dunphy Sports Fishing Imports, attn to service: 36 Bay Road Taren Point, Sydney 2229, T. 9526 2144
  19. Surf style looks like the best all round protection and so gets my vote. Paul.
