  1. Great post, Thanks for the info on the circle hooks. I had no idea of fish behaviour underwater. I use owner circle hooks for my bream fishing with good success on the Parra river landbased but less success around the lower harbour. I fish even simpler than you: unweighted bait on a handline
  2. Great fish Chris, what a great fish!
  3. Great report, Thanks for taking the time to post, I really enjoyed the read. Congrats on a great feed n catch
  4. I got busted off by a kingie at the spit bridge using chicken breast on my bream outfit. I mainly get bream using chicken though. Paul
  5. What a beast! Great catch and well done
  6. Me thinks velveteen rabbit is have a joke I couldn't ever bring myself to eat one. Man what's with their creepy little eyes!!!
  7. What a great catch. Your preparation and hard work has paid off. Top catch there.
  8. I've been teetering on the brink of buying a boat but have stepped back from the abyss as the family needs a bigger home. Self control is the hardest thing to do! Now I fish with a handline.
  9. Yeah Im 100% with you on that. What is even more disgusting is when the parasite drops it's baby parasites and they swarm out like a tide of lice. EEEEWWWWHHHH nightmare time
  10. Great holiday, great report and great photos. Tassie is awesome
  11. Happy days! Well done dad and Olivia, hope you enjoy many future outings together. Paul (Got to wait a few more years before my girl is ready to do the same )
  12. Good work there, If you want to eat the fish go for it. I eat fish out of the Lane Cove as well. Nice jewie as well.
  13. Beautiful feed there Steve, Im jealous Paul
  14. Congrats on getting your boat in the water. All the hard work has paid off. Nice catch there.
  15. Hi James, Welcome to Sydney. Thats a great boat you've got there, Im jealous. I fish Berowra Creek, launch from the Berowra waters marina which is a great ramp with plently of free parking, pontoon and fish cleaning table. The tinny we fish from is similar to yours and to do well you need to hug the shore and fish the rocks, sunken timber and snags. We use handlines with light line 6-10lbs. Fresh baits such as nippers, peeled hawkesbury prawns and cut mullet fillets work well. Rigs are a simple unweighted hook. Target fish are bream, can't help you with jewies ect. It is a spot we fish at night only. If your looking for a mate to go fishing with I'd be happy to show you some spots and share costs. Good luck, Paul
  16. Thanks Tony, That's good advice. Unfortunately I've only ever caught 1 fish of this size so the toxin levels are still quite low. PS I was about to go for a sneaky weeknight fish but it just started bucketing down. Paul
  17. mullet strips work for me. Hawkesbury prawns are good but tend to get demolished by the pickers. Mullet is tougher and is cheaper as well.
  18. Hi, Fish as light as possible 6lb mono with an unweighted hook. No swivels or sinkers, just a hook on light line. Fish close to the shore and cast at structures such as rocks or timber (logs ect). Don't forget the burley. Good luck
  19. Thanks for all the comments. Makes me feel like fishing some more. Paul
  20. Hi all, Thanks for the replies. The fish measured 42cm and was caught using fresh mullet strips. As for the dioxin if it kills me then I'll die happy I don't get to fish that often and so Im under the recommended dosage. Paul
  21. Hi all, long time member, occasional poster. Hit the Roseville bridge this evening to fish the run in tide. Burleyed hard with bread and prawn bits and fished close to the shore using a handline. (8lb mono) Got a few nibbles and let a couple of undersized fish go before I felt a small tap and something dragging my bait. I let him take some line and then gave it a yoink. Bang the line goes flying of and in the slippery conditions he kept on taking it. Eventually I used the handline to wind in the line and beached this nice fish. After the top of the tide it went dead and we packed up and drove home. Thanks for reading, Paul
