  1. Berleyguts. Just a thought. Get a piece of ply and cut it to the size of the transome. Bolt it to the back of your boat and use a suitable adhesive to seal around it. You can then attch what you want to the board and no holes in your boat. Yes you have to fix the ones that are already there.. Cheers.
  2. Before you put the floor in get your consul and cables sorted out and test where you will fit them. It is important to have the right length of cable and how you will attach it to the motor. I agree about buying a ready made consul. They are expensive so I can understand the reason to build one. Are you going to put seating in. I am sure you have all that planned along with bait tank and fuel system. What a great hull they are. Good luck and enjoy your pleasure.
  3. Any Johnson outboard dealer will have it. I use to get mine from Croydon Marine from Long John ( a gentleman)
  4. I endorse Trapper Toms comments . The only beer I allow on my boat is Ginger so I get to fish alone quite alot. Alcohol really gets to you very quickly on the water in summer. At the end of a day a schooner/stubby or two tastes better than a six pack or two on the water. DONT DRINK ON THE WATER SIMPLE AS THAT.
  5. Baz I took my trailer to a place in Lakemba and got a quote to have it upgraded. It worked out cheaper for them to do the work and without the hassle. It was a cash job Sorry I dont have the details or address as I was just driving buy and it was a very small place. Perhaps it is worth looking up the yellow pages for a place near you.
  6. Now I am really confused. I can not believe there is so many options. Good luck BG on getting the right ones.
  7. Was that Irish coffee you were celebrating the catch with. I have a feeling the kings this year will not be as fussy what they will scoff down. With heaps of juvenile kings about the pickings will be slim. Lots of tight lines and bust ups for summer CHEERS.
  8. The more you fish the better the catch. Great stuff cant wait to read what you catch when the season hots up. You will probably need a small dinghy to bring your catch home.
  9. Great catch fellas. You certainly travelled a long way up the river to Tempe Station. I stand corrected and hope you dont mind me saying where you fished if that was where you did. The area around Tempe I grew up Ie Mackay Park and the old bowling club. I go back to the 50`s where we dug worms and had our own spot. Took a potatobag down filled with food scraps given to us from Russos fruit& veg shop. Before filling in where we dug drop the sack in for next time.
  10. I catch more fish that way. (if I catch a fish) Seriously I think we taught our selves bad habits when young and were not the wiser. I also think our tutors did not want to complicate the matter. After using an oyster bottle for a handline until I was 18 I taught myself. It felt more comfortable A good question.
  11. You are certainly a keen fisho. By the size of the boat you fished out of you really do it tough which adds to the merit of your catch. You are right about the sudden change of weather on Sunday it dropped to a breeze and then suddenly picked up.
  12. Too cheap. What a great idea. I did not know they were available. Will be first thing I will do when I get my next Boat. Current tinny is going to the scrap yard after 16 years of hard fishing the pop rivetts no longer keep the water out. Yep hull well over30 years old. I would not like to embarrass other members of how my boat looks.
  13. When I go fishing I am told to bring my fish home whole so the wife can clean them. Beside prawn heads she likes the guts of the fish to eat.(she is japanese) She tells me it tastes like SCALLOPS. The trouble with it she likes to wash it down with $30+ bottles of White WINE. Nothing is wasted. After I finish cleaning the boat I have a feed of fresh fish while she enjoys the spoils. NOT JOKING. BLUEBOTTLE.
  14. I agree. Blurters are OK, look after them when you catch them and eat them on the day. It is good to here they are on the bite. Well done on your catch. I envy you at being on the water today.
  15. Thanks for your kind words Raiders. Will endeavour to catch up October. In process of disposing old tinny and have a much better one to replace it. there are no words to say how good this site is for fishos. CHEERS BLUEBOTTLE
  16. You dont need the circus at Rosebay to be entertained by clowns. Glad to see you caught a few. you were on a good drift.
  17. What about testing the prawns caught in the lake. Would they be affected by the pollution.
  18. I just had the same problem. My good friend fixed it by using stainless steal screws and some very expensive black sealant. Dont forget to clean the area thoroughly before use with a good sanding and wipe to remove all traces of salt. My mate is a car mechanic so dont know what the sealant was but dried rock hard.
  19. Vegemite and spinach on toast. Mind the fingers.
  20. You guys have a great sense of humour in your replys. Just love it and keep it up. I also want to say thanks for the info you gave. as I am sure many others like myself found the info very helpfull.
  21. Have a look at a STABICRAFT open boat from New Zealand. As tough as they come, flat floor and plenty of metal to customise your boat and wide gunnells. Not sure if you can get them in Aust The ones I saw were from a friend who fished out of them over in New Zealand in photos.
  22. Good work. Always good to see some one get rewarded for persevering and using their knowledge. It is a good beach to fish off. Looks like you will have a good summer.
  23. Welding it would be the best solution. If not I use a piece of Dynel Cloth and 2 part epoxy resin. Just make sure you have the spot very clean. I would call myself an expert at this as my tinny is full of holes and well past its expiry date. You must be confused as to what method to use. Good luck.
  24. Did it have any extra hooks. I and another fisho left a few in around six odd PJ`s the other day. There is certainly no shortage of them in the bay. Can`t wait for the wind to drop so we can fish in a bit of comfort.
