    Hi All

I have not posted for some time nor worked on pimping my Brooker 410.

Reason being my being diagnosed with Stomach Cancer and undergoing Chemotherapy. Not a fun way to spend time and not how I expected to spent my retirement years. But hey, there are worse  forms of the big C so I live in hope of a cure.

In the meantime I have been building a Billie cart for my grand-kids.  Ready for the Bangalow downhill race in May.

Sometimes we need to experience adversity in any shape or form to appreciate just what good things happen to us every day..

Every day where I live on this earth and who I am so blessed to live with is a precious gift that has no bounds.

    as per the Maori mantra.

THE BIRDS CALL, THE DAY BEGINS AND i AM ALIVE.

Thank you to the Magpie that sings his song in our backyard with such joy and the noisy, paired for life Plovers at Burrill Lake

You are a part of my life that I will value for all time.

Cheers all, I will hopefully be able to finish pimping the Brooker but it may take some time.

Sorry to hear that health news @Paikea. Hope you are able to keep any pain under control and I am sure you have a great medical team to support you.

You are doing what you need to do and your grandkids take priority. They will remember the billy cart. Lets hope they win on that special cart.

    Hi All,

Hope everyone is well and had a great Christmas. I used to go by the forum name Jay88 when it was Fishraider. Had to sought out things in life with family, commitments etc. I have recently moved near the Riverstone, Schofields (Blacktown area) and was wondering if anyone can recommend any fishing spots? Your assistance will be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Jay this is still fishraider fishing forum. You have the account Jay88 still.

You have lots of posts in that login. I will merge the two as we only allow one account.

  4. To all raiders and their families and friends we wish you a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2024.

Thanks to Deckee for making fishraider the Deckee Community Hub for all anglers and boaters in Australia and internationally.

This site remains a wealth of information and a wonderful community. This is due to the input of every member who posts, sends “likes” and other reactions and generally encourage all anglers. A big thank you to all the members who continuously post wonderful fishing and boating reports and help with questions posted. Gold members, mentors, fish chefs and everyone with special badges keep up the great work.

A very big thanks to our moderators @Little_Flatty Mike who has put in a massive effort this year, @Scratchie Jeff, @dirvin21 Dave, @RahTara and who give their time to help me with keeping our space a happy and safe community. Special shout-out to @Blackfish  who does a great job on ID of fish for members. Every one of these mods have very busy lives but still pop in to help when needed.

Hope everyone catches lots of fish and enjoys the holiday break. We look forward to some exciting fishraider things in the coming year.

Cheers from mrsswordie your Community Manager

Yea agreed, the life jacket will not help me at all mate if i get dragged in, might have to stick to beach fishing or something until i learn to swim... honestly no i cannot swim. I had a drowning when i was younger so that scared me from the ocean.

Definitely no rock fishing for you.

Members have given you some very good information and tips.

FISHRAIDER DOES NOT ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO GO TO ANY OF THE SPOTS MENTIONED IN THIS FORUM AND YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK

Have a look at this link with safety tips https://www.nsw.gov.au/environment-land-and-water/coasts-waterways-and-marine/rock-fishing-safety-tips
