  1. great work on the kings that spot has been a good producer for me too i lost a monster fish there a few yrs ago while flicking plastics on the silly string after a good 40min fight she did me on my prop cant wait to get out on the water
  2. how long does it take you to tie a midknot ??
  3. got myself a pr bobbin last week sat down and mastered tying the pr knot can tie it in around 2-3min and i have alot of confidence in the knot i cant see it breaking and now i can push my gear to its limits
  4. depends where you are fishing kings hang around pretty much all year but they are just harder to find normally the ones you catch during winter are alot bigger
  5. great photo i must of taken that one there is nothing better then a bloody deck on a tuna boat we will have to catch up again soon for a fish ill get you hooked on jigging lata
  6. that wasn't at browns that was around the 12mile there was alot of bait on the surface so we had hopes of running into a beakie we put out some small bait jigs and caught the frigates we then pulled in the spread and bridled up the frigates and sent them out for a snack for a nice beakie sadly we didn't run one was a great day on the water only problem is now i want a bigger boat
  7. nice work mate what gear did you catch him on is that the JM powerspell 500gm in the photo ? nice combo
  8. does it still happen if you eat the fish strait away kings at my house never get frozen they are eaten within a day or 2 max
  9. what rod will you be using and what is it rated too you have to match your gear to the rod i run 2 jigging outfits one is a shimano jigwrex PE5 setup and the other is a jigging master three kings PE8 the PE5 rod works best with jigs around the 250gm mark and the PE8 works best with 350gm jigs if you don't match your gear correctly you wont get the best action out of your jig and you will tire a lot faster i use saltiga boat braid on my outfits and i use windon leaders in the 100lb bracket or i connect 100lb leaders via a PR knot i like to use the zest jigs but be prepared to loose a lot of jigs out there to jackets and toads so i have a heap of cheap jigs too my jigging bag weighs about 10kgs haha i connect my jigs in the same way that Evets has said the zest jigs come like this out of the packet so if you buy them all you need to do is tie your leader to the solid ring i don't think color plays too much of a roll especially when jigging in deep water its more the action of the jig but i still do have my fav color and that's the blue zest long baitfish
  10. do you need a PR bobbin to tie your midknot??
  11. if you could make a video that would be great been looking for more info on this knot for a while was also looking into the PR knot but i dont want to have to carry around a PR Bobbin and i want to be able to tie it on the boat
  12. middle harbor is quite a drive in a boat from pittwater
  13. can you trim your motor all the way up looks a little close ? i plan on getting him to make me up a tank as soon as i get my floor carpeted
  14. couldnt he just give the fish away for free and charge a fee for corkage
  15. mono will work fine for bashing not as good as braid tho as braid has no stretch but it will still work you can get mono with very low stretch that would do the trick too if you going to be doing more bottom bashing them any thing else might be a good idea to do what Dave suggested top shot with braid so fill the spool with some 350mtrs of mono then fill the rest with braid
  16. best to stay away from a spiderhitch it no way near as strong as a bimini twist or a plait sure its easy to tie but you better off learning to tie a bimini or a plait just my 2 cents
  17. put 15kg on one and 20kg on the other the brand of mono you use will determine how much line fits on each reel i think i actually got less then 400mtrs of 15kg on mine
  18. alot of ppl use braid on TLD's but there made for mono stick with 15kg mono ive just respooled my TLD25 with around 500mtrs of 15kg IGFA class line gamefishing + braid = pulled hooks
  19. after spending the coin on a Ocea i would also spend the money on a good rod the T-curves are a broomstick check out some of the jigging master rods the three kings special is a weapon and will handle any thing ive seen a few of the t-curves snap on some nice fish and as usual john great work those kings are beasts what gear did you catch them on your saragosas sure do get a good workout
  20. alot of the time there unwanted bycatch from trawlers so they just get thrown back either dead or dying

  24. i just did a upgrade on my tld to a round handle and i must admit it does feel great in the hand alot better then the original but i couldn't find any round handles for the lower range of shimanos only for the stellas
  25. take a look at this DR DEPTH "DrDepth is a software application that runs on either a PC (Vista/XP/2000/NT4/ME/98 etc) or a Pocket PC (Pocket PC/Windows Mobile 2003 or later). DrDepth creates bathymetric maps from position and depth data delivered by your GPS and sounder. DrDepth can be used for mapping both on and off the water."
