  2. Hi guys,

Just need some help choosing a rod too match up to a TLD25 ive been looking at a shimano backbone 10-15kg roller tip its going to be used for trolling and live baiting only looking at spending up to about 200 dollars

i have the exact same setup

    does the job nicely

  3. if you ever drop your phone in water (not salt) best way to fix it is to turn the phone off

and then put the phone into a bowl of uncooked rice for a few days

the rice will absorb the water out of the phone

if you drop the phone is salt water your pretty much screwed

  4. I have just been reading another post and he is putting music in the boat. I have always been told to be as quiet as you can in the boat. Have I been kidding myself all this time, sneaking around the boat like a thief!!!

    would appreciate any comments.

there is always music pumping in my boat

doesnt seem to scare the fish off

infact theres a few songs that seems to always bring in the fish

they seem to like the hill top hoods :)

i think noise from dropping sinkers and knifes onto the floor of a tinny might scare off the fish

but in my case music is fine

  5. what downrigger bomb would be best suited for dual downriggers

i currently run a 10lb cannonball but done some reading and im now looking at either the fish shaped bombs or the pancake ones

i like the fish ones as they look like a fish and could attract fish to the baits but i not sure how well they track

then there is the pancake ones that are alot thiner and should track well as they have a large fin and will have alot less resistance with the water so i should only need a 8lb instead of the 10lb

a little expert advice would be great

    cheers in advance

  8. incase you didnt no the line counter on the scotty range of downriggers is in feet not meters

even tho its a easy process to convert feet to meters i found these little counters for sale

"These depth counters are designed to aid in the capture of fish by accurately setting your bait or lure at a desired depth ( where the fish are).

Use these Line counters in conjuction with your sounder or on there own, some of the features of these line counters are:

    # Impact resistant nylon abs housing for protection against saltwater

    # Large 3 digit depth reading in meters

    # Indicates in 1 meter steps down to 999 meters

    # Strong line runner

    # Comfortable rod attachment system- can be attached to rod in seconds

    # Two other great uses for the line counterc are as follows:

    # Great for spooling up your reels accurately

    # divide those large spools of braid onto those small spinning reels easily"

i bought 2 of these and plan on putting them on my dual scotty 1050 setup

has any one used these before ??

will they work with a downrigger cable i use the wire cable

    cheers
