Pickles Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 (edited) A long planned “post COVID” trip with fishing buddy Peter finally happened today. The weather was brilliant, wind slight, seas small, tide was good and bait was easy. Peter wanted to get Flatties and after Monday’s success, I decided to head off shore again to chase blue spots. I caught up with fellow raider “Blaxland” at the ramp, who had the same idea, but he was heading South and us North. We ended up with our bag limit (20) by 9.30 and 2 nice flounder. The water temp has dropped quite a lot, being18 at the ramp, but 20.4 outside. Bait was squid (from previous trip) and fresh Yakka strips. We used 2 rigs: standard paternoster with 20lb braid to 12lb mono leader with 2 hooks; one 3/0 circle and one 3/0 Tru-Turn. The other 12lb mono with a swivel and same 12 mono to a small ball sinker running straight to 2/0 BKK circle hook. Edited April 22, 2021 by Pickles Heading 14
