  1. Not the biggest, but yes, they are nice eating. Filet skinless ( because their skin is very tough ), beer egg coating, quick fry, lemon and mayonaise ( yes very European ), with bolied papatoes or fries. Lake looks nice with nice description. Thanks for the tip.
  2. I was told to fish 1m above ground to avoid getting Shovels and catfish on the hook. My idea is to have main line, swivel, trace of 1/2 meter. To the same swivel I attach a weight on a small breaking weight line of about 1.5m. In case of hookup chances are the weight / line snaps and I dont have to worry about the weight. My idea is to use biodegradable line and biodegradable weights for this. Am I going a bit too green here? Any Idea where to get the Bio-Line from. ( PM only ) Anyone had experience withthis or is doing something similar?
  3. Checked group on Facebook that sells gear. Nothing appeared there ( yet )
  4. Great report, made a nice reading. That shark would have given me the HeebyGeebies evan from my boat. Those waves at middle head are painful, even from the boat. So easy to turn green, especially early in the morning. Well done !!!
  5. Sad news. My thought go out to the family. I'll forward this to my friends who looked strangely at me, when I told them to put on lifevests, when I took them out on my boat, inside the harbout at 10PM.
  6. Great report. I wasnt that lucky. Lots of eels and shovels at the wreck, and more eels and a blind shark at the Jew Holes near the ramp of Soldiers. My guess is that I was fishing on the wrong side of the island. North of it on the tide running in. Next time I try to use your approach. I had problems finding the werck too. By chance anchored and the sounder went from 14m to 9m.
  7. I'm with you. Could potentially push up the fishing license to $50, to buy out the commercial fishing license.
  8. Thanks for the report. Nice catch. Intersting you put a 65lbs line / 80 lbs Leader on a 33lbs Max Drag reel. I ask, because I just bough a PENN SPINNFISHER which has a similar Max Drag, but only put a 40lbs braid and 50lbs Fluoro leader. Is this because you fish from the rock, or is that a fairly common setup, and I missed the point ? ( I would use my rod from the boat, for chasing Kings, but similar location as you caought yours )
  9. Where ??? Will there be any fish left after the Trailer Boat Fishing Comp? I like that in addition to the radio, it is now possibel to check the internet to see the 3 place size. Smart.
  10. Good luck. I'll be up over easter.
  11. My advice: Put $100 aside every month. Do not use it for bait or accessories. Use it for maintenance and repairs.
  12. Went to TAZ and had a Golf Bag with the Rod Pipe and my clothes inside. 1 piece of luggage.
  13. You can spend you rmoney on Rust remover, or new hooks.
  14. One spat a yakka back at me, after checking me out. I was speechless seeing its size.
  15. Antitheft: Wheel Lock, and since it's on your property, massive bolt into the ground, with chain around trailer, and padlock. If you want you can add a gps tracker, with long life sim.
  16. I think the sounder is in fish symbol mode. Can you see the little fish at 2 meters.
  17. Picture ? Part Number? Specific model?
  18. Bilge pump in my boat is connected to a switch. Off/Auto/On. Next to the light switch. Hope it helps. Otherwise like other said, put the hose in your boat and wait
  19. Post of the month ! Gave me the goosbumps !
  20. Be aware, that if it is the store I got my combo from, that this sore is renowed for not treating their rods and customer too well. This could lead to snapped rods and unhappy customers. So check the tip very well, and go for it.
  21. How often do you replace tyres? Got my trailer second hand in 2009, not changed since then. Trailer was originaly bought in 2004. I probably habve the original tyres on.
  22. Congrats on the king. I have not caught a legal yet. I assume you do know that there is a no-stopping ( transit ) zone around the bridge. http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents/maritime/safety-rules/publications/transit-zone.pdf
  23. Swapped Gym membership for a boat. Same exercise, more fun.
