  1. Try Clifton Gardens, Balmoral or Bobbin Head! At Clifton i get bream and tailor with the chance of a king or salmon. At Balmoral i always get choppers, Bream and Flounder. Just use prawns and you should be able to find a few legal fish for a feed. My favourite, Bobbin Head, just use a rod with a sinker and prawn, cast it out and leave it in the community rod holders and then use a unweighted prawn or even squid and drift it about 6-7 meters from the shore. You can also use a float and catch the million and one mullet that seem to be around. Good luck
  2. So you were fishing near the Caravan Park?
  3. When you say the mouth, do you mean in that channel that runs out into the ocean or near the caravan park??
  4. That sounds like a great session there! I never really get anything much at the mouth. The only significant fishing experince ive had there was catching about 30 small bream in 5 minutes and even a small 50cm whaler shark! Not a good sign for swimmers!
  5. I'm no expert on jews but i can tell you that greenwich wharf has alot of jewies around the 10kg range. Havent tried for one but give it a go with fresh squid, tailor or livies and put in the time. You will get that elusive jewie if you know what you know doing. High tide is best, especially at night with a new moon! Good Luck
  6. oh, were you down near the main swimming area or up the coast at dark point?
  7. Where abouts in Winda woppa were you. We only ever get bream, whiting and flatties and never seen a school of pelagics around there. Great job on that jumbo salmon!
  8. Lovely Spot up there. Did you manage to get offshore at all?
  9. Also the less run in the tide, the better and bigger the fish seem to be for me. High tide is best!
  10. Hey mate, I seem to catch more bream during winter. Mainly on baits that is. There are alot of undersize bream but there are also some big ones around. Some of my favourite spots are the roseville bridge with prawns, squid or mullet. Bobbin Head with fresh prawns and mullet. Stokes point in pittwater with mullet or bonito and i find most wharves hold the greatest number of fish in the cooler months.
  11. Near The mouth of Berowra Creek on the right if you are comin out, There is a rather large oyster lease that holds bream flathead, whiting and jewfish. I have found that the most common catch here is flathead on prawn baits but bream are around if you have the right lure or bait. Try Bar island for jewfish and big bream. Live or fresh bait is best! I'm no expert about down near the boat ramp but i do know that all the rockwalls and rock bars hold fish. Especially Big Brem
  12. The Vines is probably the top bream spot in the hawkesbury. It also has great jews available. When you are on your way to bar pt, instead of going through the passage. Try going the other side and the cliffs along the bank are known a the vines. I can't find a very detailed map to show you but hopefully you can understand my brief instructions. Good luck
  13. yes, thats right. It is nessled between the vines and bar point. Its not too hard to find:)
  14. We fish the point that faces directly to the brooklyn marina. Lots of houses with wharves. This is the best time of the year to fish it for flatties and i even managed a legal snapper last time!
  15. Near the boat ramp in the early morning the salmon are always around and the tailor and kings are always near bye too. Good luck
  16. Fish Dangar island for flathead and bream. Some nice flatties up to 60cm. The odd whiting and blue swimmer aswell. If you want flathead, bream and jewies then travel further too milson island and fish the point that faces the parramatta wreck. Missed a big run a few weeks ago there. Good luck
  17. Thats good too hear as i was there today with not much action on the jewie side of things. Well Done!!
  18. Hey mate, don't fish out there much but i have heard that the dollies are still around with all the other usual suspects in the mix. A mate also hooked a spanish mackerel a few weeks ago out there. Good luck
  19. Hey guys, Went down for a fish at the roseville bridge today. I was armed with mullet, squid and prawns. The place is absoluteley overflowing with fish. There were schools of tailor and salmon busting up with more mullet than you could poke a stick only meters from the shoreline. During the day we only managed 3 bream and 2 tailor. The downside was all of them were undersize. The biggest of the bream going 23cm and biggest tailor 25cm. Lost a brute of a bream on the oysters a few meters from shore though. The people around us caught legal leatherjackets and small tailor as well. After the squid had been out for about 2 hours it got a hit and line was peeling off the reel at an unbeleivable speed. It took about 100m of line before the line snapped. What a shame. Now, off to narrabeen with the family on the weekend. Hopefully we can snag a whiting or two!
  20. On the Roseville side of the river there is a concrete area that juts out into the river a bit. I would like to give this ago. Can you get livies at night there?
  21. Hey guys, There is a full moon this monday night and i am going to try my luck at roseville for big jews with fresh squid and mullet for any bream that are aound too. Any stories or trips of success would be great to hear. Any tips would be great too. Please comment because this is my big shot at a first big jew! Tom
  22. If im just setting up for a few hours, i was thinking of having a rod with a liver worm out, a rod with a mullet strip out and flick around some sp's while i wait. Is this okay? Hopefully a big bream or whiting takes some interest. One final question. What is the best tide to fish there on?
  23. Yes that is true, i have seen them busting up at this wharf at 11:30 (midday). The early morning gives you the best chance when on a boat but when on shore they will be arounfd during the day too. Tom
