  1. Love to see some pics of , and from the yak Matey. MIck
  2. G`day Fellas , Hard to Judge the length of the fish in that photo , but assuming the Fella laying down in not a 5 foot midget , then I would Guess That Fish is close to 70 pounds. I Note that the Gut area is rather bloated even laying flat , so that would suggest to me , one very solid fish. Either way , its a good Catch , and one of which the Angler can be well proud of. Are there any stats on the Fish Mate ??. Mick
  3. G`day Fellas , Todays bet is below , and Good Luick to all Having a flutter. Mick
  4. G`day Fellas , Those refill cartridge are quite Good EXCEPT If your printer is an EPSON. I Got so Disgusted at the Prices Epson was Charging I substituted the refillable ones for the Epson. Big Mistake , 5th Page of a 15 Page run , serious bleed , followed by Paper Jam , and shit everywhere. Nozzles Blocked , quoted $185.00 to clean and repair. Solution !! , took one 5lb lump hammer , and reduced printer to pulp, packed mangled mess into it`s original Carton , asked a mate going to town to drop it off at the recycle depot at Taree . Next day drove into ***** , Purchased a $90.00 HP printer & scanner all in one , and have been amazed at the quality of the Colour prints. Have replaced The colour Cartridge with the Elcheapo , and bingo No Discernable difference ," unless you were a chronic nit picker ". Mick
  5. G`day Fellas , Heya Robbie , I have been watching that show for over a Year now. Best part is , they will repeat it in the off season as well , so It`s possible to catch up on missed episodes. Top Show , I really enjoy watching it Later at night . Mick
  6. G`day Fellas , No Good grant , had one up , but the others missed . Looked A chance in the last for a while , but got nosed out for about $96 .00, but never mind , always next week . Mick
  7. G`day Fellas , Todays bets are as Usual Below , and Good Luck to all who are having a flutter . Mick

    Blackfish

G`day Fellas , Rule of Thumb For me was , Generally 2 hours before and after High Tide , with 99% of the time , unless there was some sort of Flow , the Fish would not bite.. Having said that , I know a few spots that will only produce fish on the Dead low , and a strange occurence at these holes was , that instead of the the float dipping down , it often bobbed upwards . I used to think it was because I was fishing too deep , but the same thing happened when I adjusted the Depth. The result was mostly always the same though , Give them time to take the bait and strike , and bingo Game on!. Ya just gotta keep at it , And develop your own skills and adaptations . Walk along any " active Breakwall " , and you will see as many varied Techniques as you see Rigs . Just Pinch whichever system works best for you . Mick

    Jewie Smell

G`day Fellas , At times , the smell is so stong coming off the Water it almost becomes nauseating . I notice it mostly when you feel the Pressure starts building . Now let me state For the Record , I Love That Fish , But by God I hate that Bloody Smell. Mick PS , expect some Jewie Pics In The Next Few Days !.
  10. G`day Fellas , MGibbo , I would seriously consider a Ground Called " Pumpkin Point " . This Spot , is without a doubt , the Most prolific producer of Table fish on the entire Hawkesburry System. Anchor just off the drop off , and cast well out into the channel , retreiving the bait the same as you would with soft Plastics. Keep in mind though Its pretty deep water in Parts , but if the flatties are off the chew , you nearly always keep yourself busy with School Jews . I have only ever used Bait at this spot , Harbour Prawns are the top Go , or slabs of Mullet 12 cms long , and as wide as a fish Finger. Good luck on the Day ! Mick
  11. G`day Fellas , Our Bet for the day Is Below ,and Good Luck to all having a flutter . Mick
  12. G`day Fellas , I `ll ask him tomorrow ,and let youknow... Mick
  13. G`day Fellas , That Curb you mounted , could just as easily have been a Small Child , so lets stop blaming The Tester. Thats a bad attitude , and that = a bad driver , so Learn from it and take a bit more care next time. In My opinion licences are too easy to get these days , and I Firmly hope , that one day All Learners will be made to attend and have to Pass The Advanced Driving Course before a Licence is Issued . Thats where you really learn learn how to drive a veichle with Skill , and skill is w3hat will surely one day save your life. Better Luck Next time mate . Mick
  14. G`day Fellas , Arthur Serrafis , a fellow Raider , and Resident OF OLD BAR , drove down to Sydney last weekend , to Play In The State Finals of The Australian Poker League . Arriving at the The Marconi Club In Sydney , he managed to beat 900 other Poker Champs fron The State , and collect the Top Prize , of $10,000 Cash. And as they say , when your luck is in , It`s really in , coz with the change from a $5.00 bill after buying a lemon squash , Arthur dropped a dollar coin into a Pokie , and collected a $800.00 Jackpot. So 900 Players later , "Arfur The Assasin" as I so rightly named him last year when we all began to play poker together at the Local Bowlo , left Sydney for the long drive home to Old Bar with a cheque for 10,000 in his wallet ,and eight brand new shiny $100.00 bills in his shirt pocket , not a bad days Pay , "Dont you Think ". Mick PS, Winning that Tournament , Automaticaly gave him a seat into the " Big One" , 220 Players , Ist Prize , 300,000 .....and that will be on TV ...Hope He doesn`t suffer from stage fright!!!!!.
  15. G`day Fellas , Kingpig , like most of us , and Lawrie as well , prefer whats comonly known as the "Colonoscopy" Rig. And thats where you slide a large fat worm well up the line past the Hook , and after a couple of loops , you pass the hook through the Body , and preferably leaving a tail approximately 10cms long. My Lil Fella does it slightly different , and although he threads a worm well up the line ( sometimes as much as 15/20 cms ) he then loops the rest of that worm and passes the hook through it`s head . Then he loops another worm or two down the Long Shank (9/0) hook passing the point through it a few times , making it look so inviting , fair dinkum , it takes all my self control not to "chomp" on it myself . But having said all of the Above , you now must be prepared to spend long hours chasing your Quarry , on average I would say at least 4 hours is the Norm. That of course does not include the time spent surveying the area you intend to fish that night or the next . Mick He`s been too busy of late , but I`m sure he will feature pretty soon!!. Mick
  16. G`day Fellas , Next time Lawrie goes worming , he said he would take A pic of How he loads his worms ,and then post it here for you to see. It`s all pretty basic stuff though , big baits catch big Fish. Mick
  17. G`day Fellas , Todays bet is as usual Below , and having picked up 400 odd last week , we Hope to Improve again today. Good Luck to all having a flutter. Mick
  18. G`day Fellas , Only on rare occaisions does The bigfella use anything less than live fresh worms pulled that day . And golf ball Size baits are always the go for sure. Mick
  19. G`day Fellas , Local Legend Lawrie Pukullas , nailed these two medium size Jews this morning in the early hours just before dawn. You might recall , that Lozza has a slight knack of catching large tailor as well , with his last noteable effort going 20.5 pounds. For the record , these two Jews Went 110 & 106 Cms respectively , and the Larger of the two , actually Straightened a 7/0 hook , which somehow incredibly held till he beached it . Lozza , after having a short "Poppy Nap" , might post his story of the night when he gets some time . Can`t believe that hook , almost 180 degrees. Mick
  20. G`day Fellas , Ith , loothed lythe he came off.... Thecond betht , in a head butting competition . Mick
  21. G`day Fellas , And here was me thinking I needed to Change my Specs again. Mick
  22. G`day Fellas , We Collected $412.30 for the FPC, But If Trulli could have hung on for Third , it would have been around $2400. But Thats Punting . Omen punting is good fun at times , I remember the day that My Step Father having cashed his Tax cheque in the Pub For $600.00 , and having given all but 40 of it to My Mum for safe keeping , blew the 40 playing pool. So , thinking nothing of it , he Calmly reached into Mums bag and took another 40 while she was on a toilet break . The following morning the Ole girl discovered the shorfall and they had a slight tiff , not for taking the Dosh , but not telling her He did so. That was Melbourne Cup day 1965 and so , as My Mother who loved Cryptic Crosswords , was scanning the Cup field in the Morning paper , saw her Omen Pick flash before her eyes , and immediately Gave my Brother $40.00 to Have on the Nose , and as you all can guess , IT WON !!!!. I never knock Omen betting , I have won many times myself following that type of hunch. Mick
  23. G`day Fellas , Yeah Thanks stew , just starting to get better this morning actually. Will have a Ultra sound on wed and see whats happening . Mick
  24. G`day Fellas , Finished up spending Friday Night in Hospital with what I believe was a Gall Bladder problem, so We left our bet till Today . Good luck to all having a flutter. Mick
  25. G`day Fellas , Matt Taylor , a member on This site would be the most qualified to answer this question , so Let`s hope he reads it and sets the record straight . I believe that large schools of jewfish migrate up river to spawn , and the young fish , after hanging around long enough to "beef up" a bit , head back out to the deeper waters and reefs etc , etc , and do what they do. But just like Tailor , there are always a heap that Remain in the system as Residents , which is why you can catch them all year round . Mick
