  1. LOL You do know many culture eat bugs for breakfast right 🤣
  2. Throw it on a hook, bet it gets you into another fish 😉
  3. Saw that, the other one 4.8 1993 looks pretty good to if its in budget! https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/penrith/motorboats-powerboats/seafarer-vsea-boat-4-8metres/1239115418 Don't forget most of these guys will take like 1k less if you have cash in your pocket. You just have to make sure there is no finance/money owing on it. Is there a number you can call for boats just like there is for checking cars??
  4. Garlicker eh, so a garlicfingerlicker snapper kingy slayer then Another one I have to buy 🙄🤣
  5. Nice, cant say I have seen that pattern/colour SP?
  6. PM sent, didn't want to link another forum/site
  7. All good, we all need to start somewhere & the learning journey never ends I didn't know the name of that one but I use that knot for the bottom of my paternoster rig for loop for my snapper sinker. Never really thought about using it as a terminal swivel knot. I must admit if I am using a general knot for swivels or hooks it is the uni, it is a good strong knot easy & fast to tie, if I want a up it a bit I use a trilene that doubles the loop for some extra strength. Give them a go.
  8. Not nessacarily, totally depends on the size of the kings & the location. Its a balancing act, while I think you should endeavour to fish as light as possible you will not always land the fish. I have fluoro leaders ranging from 6lb to 120lb in increments. They are all for different reasons & types of fishing. There is not one solution that fits all. You just have to think about where your fishing, do you need to up it because there is reef or structure the fish will try to get you on, if there is not you can tend to go lighter. Eg, if there in not structure around you could very well catch a 1mtr King on 10lb braid & 15lb leader, if your able to slow it down & tire it out using the drag from the reel & the action of the rod, sometimes you wont stop it, thats fishing. IF I am trying to target inshore kings I will have a couple of rods in the boat 20lb/30lb leader on one rod, the other I will have 30lb braid/50lb leader. If I was offshore fishing for kings I would take my 50lb braid/70lb leader rig or even 80lb braid with 100lb leader. Most larger reels I have came with 2 spools so if Im getting dusted I can up the line by changing spools as well. The morel of the story is if you are getting dusted you need to be able to go up, will you get as many takes, maybe not. Again that comes back to the balancing act! Brands, I have many, Berkley vanish, Jenkai, some Japanese ones I cant read, Diawa. I tend to buy gear when its on special but I am not brand specific.
  9. What are you tying with the loop?? I would recommend you do some research on what knots are for what applications. There are dropper loops, loops like Rapala or perfection for tying to bibbed lures etc. https://www.netknots.com/fishing_knots
  10. Personally its not what I would use for this application. I would use fluorocarbon, while it may not be as abrasion resistant as the one you bought it would be less visible. Other members might have a different opinion but that's me!
  11. Make sure with the clinch you are lubricating the line well when pulling it together. With the Snell there are different versions Try this one There should be no reason you can't lose 50lb for both these knots.
  12. Winners all round with everyone entertained & relaxed 👌
  13. Not about that specifically- https://australianfishingmuseum.com/capstan/#
  14. Nice set up, really like the gunnels, I miss having them in my old girl. I also like how you just have 2 seats, leaving the space in the centre open. The driver's seat sound great, although I cant see it under the towel & life jackets 😅 I need an electric motor, I think its the next thing I would add. Thanks for the look, its certainly gives food for thought on what add on would be good in your own boat 👍
  15. Good thing the young bloke doesn't think crabs are as pretty as snapper then 🤣
  16. 🙄 The reward has to be worth it though if your going to be wet & uncomfortable! Inshore is much harder to get a result on the fish imo when the water temp drops below something like 18/19c If I could fish offshore & get onto the nice snaps & kings etc I would put up with the cold. But I am happy to fish when I enjoy it but each to their own 😉 Mate I know what cold is, I've hiked 11,000 foot peaks @ -30c, I don't think to many on here could say they have been there!
  17. Soft or sensible?? Going out in the middle of winter in an open tinny isn't much fun imo!
  18. Nice mixed grill there 👌
  19. Well done Rummers. More that likely if there were mullet around there was probably something bigger not far away getting ready for a feed. Not sure if your aware of this one but another thing to keep checking https://www.salamanderbaittackle.com.au/fishing-reports/ Apart from the reports there are some really good articles & tips in there!
  20. You will have to show us them in action Rebel, maybe even post a fishing report
  21. When it comes down to it we can offer all the advise under the sun from a forum base but you need to get the proper mechanical advice from someone who deals with this on a day to day basis. I have looked at your pictures & I can tell by the pictures that your tinny wasn't built like my tinny. My tinny is old school, thick seam welding, 2 braces on the transom. Its heavy duty & like all things 1969 era was built solid & meant to last. Personally I would work on the 20HP limit & be happy they its 15 more horses than what you had, you will be happy & enjoy the extra performance it gives you. Also looking at the transom design I would say its definitely a short shaft motor needed, but again you need to ask someone who knows. Imo try go through a licenced dealer, your warranty will be sound, they will give you the best advice over someone that will just agree with you to get a sale!! Good luck Blade 👍
  22. What was the model/length again?
  23. Great looking boat & vid Owen. Sounds like your getting the most out of it. When you get that Minn Kota fixed would be great to see a bit of footage in action.
  24. Its no secret, keep persisting 😉 Well done, looks like you took on board the info from your other thread 👌
