I'm not sure what Bruce does but imo it's better If you intend on freezing them to freeze them raw. Then thaw them in the fridge before cooking. If frozen cooked the water between the cell fibres expands & when thawed they drop all that moisture plus more & you end up with a loss in flavour & texture. If you do freeze them after cooking thaw them naturally in the fridge & never in water for the best result. Proof is in the pudding, try one both ways & see which is better.

If fined for that I would be contesting it! It takes me 5 minutes to flush my motors & wash my 13ft tinny & trailer plus rods down! Less than most people's showers.

Wow, that's pretty harsh for a charter that I would imagine is costing a fair bit of coin Then again I went on a charter once & they said the 1st knife jig is free & once lost subsequent jigs would be $25 a pop. That's when it starts adding up! Im like you Stino, I like to take all my own gear on charters, I know it, I know my knots/rigs etc & I don't have to ask if its ok to handle something. Mind you if someone said here use this Shimano T curve GT special with the Stella 18000 then yeh Id have to have a go at that as its something I would never buy myself. Well explained Donna & with all due respect 'we' generation 'X' don't have to conform to the way of the Generation 'Z' or 'Millennial's' The way they act these days many of them deserve a size 12 up the clacka or a clip around the ears! Overpopulation! Simple, the amount of large scale apartment blocks that have gone up in the last 3 years is astonishing. The Sydney basin is choking itself!! That's 10's of thousands of new taps, dishwashers & people taking showers. And imo this is all linked to the immigration rate!! This country does not have the infrastructure to support the people coming in! In fact the world population is increasing at an unsustainable rate, estimated to be 10 billion people by 2050. Glad I wont be around to see that! In 2016 the Warragamba spillway overflowed, so in 3 years we have consumed over 50% of the available water, & that's with several 'top ups' How can it not be a political subject? Governments with little foresight!

My suggestion is to join a fishing club! They still do exist! OR spend a few years on here getting to know frequent members & actually get to know some people through conversion & then your request might be met with some offers.

Hey frank, I get what your saying about what others members may learn from this but still imo there is such a thing as 'forum etiquette' I admit I have joined many diverse forums over the years to ask a very specific question about a particular product & although I may not visit those sites very often or at all now at least I saw the thread through to the end, with a result and extended my appreciation for the advice. So the experiment was with Penn superX mono. correct? Ive always done 5 turns form mono, 7-8 for thinner braid. Will be interested to see the braid results. Thanks for sharing 👍

Jamo just keep the rod you bought, save you buying it again because you know you will want it & need it down the track for another application. Not sure who takes back a used rod though unless it has a fault? Your not alone NAF. I bought some 6lb Vanish line the other on special $15 for 250yds yet the other Vanish is about $40 for 50mtrs. Both are fluro so I don't know what is so different about the exyier one?
