  1. I'm think that's a numb ray! Don't touch, ouch!
  2. There always biting baz! It's just the species that change. As for marine rescue, they operate 24/7 as far as I'm aware but will alternate with lake mac. They run really good crews up here. Good luck, see you on the water!
  3. Hey mate, didn't get out until monday. Then went today for a little while. Heading to seals tomorrow. The panny there is 35cm, so that flounder is a PB in the bay. I was inside using prawns and white pilchards. Fought a big snapper for about 10mins on SP's and was very close landing but it bent the hook straight. Grrrr. Looking forward to tomorrow!
  4. Thanks guys! The weather has been unreal and I'm looking forward to another trip offshore to seal rocks tomorrow! But today, I couldn't resist going out for a 2hr session. Caught some nice pannies and some cracking flounder! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. No worries mate. Hope you get amongst them. The weathers no looking pretty from Friday.
  6. No problem Steve. It's a very under estimated bar crossing and not really worth risk. Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
  7. G'day raiders, Just a quick report from port stephens over the past 2 days. With so many visitors at my home and crap weather over the past week and a half, I had to get out and make the most of this good weather. Yesterday, took a few kids and managed 15 nice whiting, a few flattys and a flounder. Today, went out offshore with fellow raider Dom and a relo of mine. Managed a heap of livies and bonito. Headed to Broughton first, fishing was tough and we tried a few spots. Managed a few Noah's and a good bream and snapper then headed wider. Stopped at the traps and chased dollies for a while, really really tough to get them. We threw everything at them barring a stick of dynamite. Managed a few but lots of work! The ocean was glassed out and 23.9. Seen some big boys free jumping but couldn't find them. Just a side note: the longtail are in the bay in numbers but are more picky than my children! Won't stop me trying though! Cheers scratchie!!!
  8. Seriously awesome Pete! Good to see you haven't lost your mojo! Haven't targeted Jews in a while and you've just inspired me! Well done champ! Cheers scratchie!!!
  9. Great stuff champion! At least you got a feed on the flattys! The fishing is pretty hard offshore ATM. Mud crab????? Hmmm had to be lost! Well done mate! Cheers scratchie!!!
  10. Hey Steve, blood knot is right they have an amnesty in that area, land based only. You can walk over there on low tide but it is very dangerous. At least one person loses their life each year as they are caught by a rising tide and persist walking across. There are far more productive areas to fish with those risks. Try sunny corner, boat harbour, big or little rocky, middle rock at one mile or the Tomaree headland. Hope that helps! Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. That's a great effort and story! The racks up here are very productive and you always a chance of a feed. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. Happy birthday mate! Hope you have a great day! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Well done on the the fish boys! I really thought they were a myth in that stream. I walk nearly that whole river with trout scarer (trout stalker) and fishless again (diesel) and didn't even see one! They got excited by something they call "a follow" Nice part of the world for a scenic bush walk though! Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Awesome chewie! Glad you picked up a few. The wreck isn't a bad spot but like with any Jew fishing it's a time factor. The weathers looking great this week, so hope to get a few myself! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. I'm with you Paul, my itch now requires stitches! I'm looking at Saturday if possible. Good luck!!! Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Nice work luc. Seems like you've been getting a bit more fishing done since the move from the mountains. Great to see. I bet your still looking for that big kingy though! Lol Great work on the 2nd place. I'm sure you'll break that record in no time! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. That is awesome! My wife now thinks I could build one too! Lol Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Charters- reef magic only! Best blokes in town! Squid- Barry park, dutchies or bagnalls beach. Live baiting- Nelson breakwall or Tomaree headland also sunny corner! Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. The calm before the storm! Weathers great up here too almost glass out!
  20. It's more to do with the barometric pressure that the storms or clouds create. A rising or steady barometer will generally activate the fish more than a falling one. Rain is just a concequence of these changes. Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. You could always go carp fishing??? Ay stewy!!! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. Wow!!! That is an awesome photo!
  23. Don't take Nbdshroom, he forgets the coffee! Sorry personal joke! Done an all nighter in the hawkesbo many times. Fishing the tides are the best chance of a Jew but I would definately find a sheltered bay for the night. Food, drink, bait, lights and fishing gear is all you need. Glow sticks on the tip of your rods are useful too! Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
