  1. Thanks Roberta! Lol ???? It would take you a month to paddle there! But I tell you what, you have provoked a thought in my to load the yak on the boat and have a go! The weather would have to be a glass out though! It is a tremendous Mecca for fishing, I'm amazed by the amount and size of fish every time I'm there! For the record it's 15km nne from Tomaree headland and has many sanctuary zones around it. Definitely any fisho should put on their bucket list!
  2. Mate, pm me when your coming up and I'll send you a few gps marks!
  3. Great report Roberta as always! Those decoy links you displayed look rather interesting. Never seen them before. Can you buy them from bcf or local tackle stores or do you have to order them online? And do you still require a loop knot? Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Thanks Vic. It's more the time I put in than anything. When your up here next give me a bell.
  5. Well done again mate! Just wondering if you've had the time to hit that spot with a livey yet? I reckon there's a big fella around there somewhere! Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. Nice work Damian, in hanging for a kingy session! They are my target species this summer! Well done! ? Cheers scratchie!!!
  7. Thanks Gibson. Just love chasing snapper!
  8. It's been a little while since I was there too but thanks to Oziodin on his beautiful boat it was an easy ride up there!
  9. Cheers mate, I know how much you love me sending you pics! ? I'm just trying to insipire you to get you big A up here!
  10. Cheers, life's short and I take every opportunity to do what love!
  11. Thanks mate, I did think of that but the kids like them on the BBQ!
  12. G'day raiders, After a few conversations with a fellow raider Oziodin, I got a leave pass and decided to join him and his mate on a trip around port stephens. Been the local, I had a few ideas in mind and we headed off to fill the tank with livies. First stop cabbage tree and it didn't take long to get quite a few in the tank and the boys were well pleased with the little effort required. Next we headed off to Broughton island and with a specific target of snapper. We dropped anchor but failed to hold bottom, so back up we went and this time successful so we started a burley trail. Mixing up our baits we found peeled prawn to be the choice and I loaded my 3/8 5inch jig head with large peeled prawn and let it drift down the current. First hit, a nice little panny, second another panny. The boys were into to and managed a few different fish and dropped something that took one of their livies. Then I was calling for a change in location, and as I spoke I was feeling my line to see where the jig was and bang zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz it sliced through my finger and peeling line like no tomorrow. This was a bigger panny for sure. After a great fight with several runs and some clever netting by Oziodin it comes the beautiful specimen! I then thought it might be good idea to head further out and chase some kings or trag but once we got there the current was pushing fast south and we were drifting north and even with 12oz sinkers couldn't hold bottom. We decided then on a slow troll from the islands in but didn't manage another fish! It was a beautiful morning on the water, it was great to meet yet another raider Oziodin and mate, thank you both for hospitality and you are both great blokes. I hope you enjoy your trip and hope I helped in some way to show you a few spots. Sorry I caught the big one but as I said "the fish seem to like the locals more, lol" The snapper went 68cm just 4kg and will go real well on the BBQ tonight! Thanks for reading! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Thanks. Mr Groper we will catch up sometime and looking forward to it!
  14. Cheers Ian, the more excuses to go fishing the better I say. If I'm not fishing, I thinking of my next fishing trip! Even the fish in our tank at home get nervous when I walk past! Lol
  15. That would give you a chance especially where the water is deep!
  16. Awesome skills. Not quite the same way I fillet but the result is similar! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. Caught one on Saturday like that. But it's very hard to target them in that fashion and your success rate would be very low. A squid jig is necessary to truly target them. Cheers Scratchie!!!
  18. As you can probably gather nothing stops me! It's the best addiction I have.
  19. Thanks, love doing all nighters! Never know what you'll get in the dark!
  20. Thanks diesel. I still don't know what I'm going to do when I retire! Lol. Would have loved to see bobs face, priceless indeed. You increase your chances of catching fish when your lines in the water and not just a can in your hand. As yeah, little Brando is a champ. And I wish were there, cos I definitely would have landed that Jew, your my lucky charm!
  21. Thanks witha! Was using fresh hawkesbury river prawns but the key is to half hitch them so they stay presented nice in a strong current. Jnr is a really keen fisho but just loves the whole journey!
  22. Great report and result! Looks like strip up there is on the cards real soon. Don't live too far from there and have camped there a few times but haven't had results like that. Well done! Cheers scratchie!!!
  23. Thanks mate. Was tuff going out there! There will certainly be a few Jews about in a couple of days after this rain. Well done on your catch too!
  24. Well done kizza! Great report and seeing those 40cm flatties next to her make then look like bait! Lol. Cheers scratchie!!!
  25. Thanks Brian, yep it got pretty hectic a few times but the beauty of the hawkesbury is there's generally somewhere to hide. It is an arrow head, great bait for that area!
