  13. That's a cracking hairtail, especially for this time of year. It would have put up an awesome fight on your gear. Well done! Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Wrek3000, I think you've lost track of your original post. You have been given much info from chelub and jewhunter. Your rod and reel is fine. The SP's you use need to be between 2-4inch (3in preferable) Your jig head weight is the matter of debate, however JH has provided you with what you should use. They have provided you with all you need except putting a fish on the hook for you. I suggest you re-read this thread, make some decisions, go fishing for a month and report back. I'm sure we are all curious as to how you went! Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. I've been following this thread and I don't blame you grant! ????
  16. Hey Krause, My simple setup is a shimano Sahara 6.6 2-5kg 2500 reel to match. 6-8lb fireline. Bought it for $129 new. Great setup, cheap, light, balanced and have played some real good fish on it and never felt like losing them. (6.6 is my preference.) Good luck deciding! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. Very nice mr Groper! That's a great feed for you boys to share. Well done! ? Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Nice simple report yowie! What was the wind like? It was ok here til 9am then it really kicked up and spoilt my fishing day yet again. Had a bit of fun with whiting and tailor on my new blades. Love those lures, even double hook ups. Were you using nippers again? Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. No problem dean. I remember you. Try the first bay up from WB to the north. On the left hand side. It banks up to sand and I've seen small fish congregate in there. Also at the very end of JB it does the same thing. Good luck mate and let me know how you go! Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. No problem mate, good luck! I don't know any spots in the hawkesbo though for them.... Hmmm Maybe the shallows in Cowan may hold them but I've never tried collecting them, so sorry I can't help! Cheers scratchie!!! P.s squid will attract the big Jew!
  21. You don't need them dean. Fresh hawkesbo prawns or pilly tail will do the job! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. Awesome work Dave! From the look of the pics, you were just hanging around the bridge in the central area there?? I've worked there from the banks before but mainly just got freshw mullet. Well done! Cheers scratchie!!!
  23. Hey Krause, tried mooney creek a few times and have not had much success. Almost destroyed my boat there as well. Anyway, if your travelling up there, the point that comes out of parsley bay would be more productive. Lb is a challenge anywhere in the hawkesbo! Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
  24. Got my first set of blades today. First cast tailor, second cast tailor, third cast whiting and fourth cast bream. Hmmmmm why wasn't I using them earlier. They are my new favourite lure! Cheers scratchie!!!
