  1. Not necessarily in the bay! We can only try!
  2. Right species wrong size! @petenelson
  3. And where off........ It’s going to be a tough day to say the least. 20 knot winds and rain squalls are helping! 😩 Bit to those who braved it! Good luck, we’ll need it.
  4. Update: After meeting up we have decided to launch at Soldiers Point
  5. Update Tomorrows start is 6am at Little beach ramp! Agreed we’ll call lines up at 4pm and meet at West diggers for dinner @630. Good luck to all and any questions ring me on the number provided! Note: First person to post a legal capture will receive two packets of soft plastics! 👏👏👏
  6. Gday raiders, Well even faced with some adverse conditions the fishraiders have turned up! We’ll be using this thread to update the weekend and our success or failures throughout! Great to put a few faces to the internet names and hopefully we can get amongst a few tomorrow! Tight lines all, cheers scratchie!!!
  7. Yeah me! Just fly me over, I have some marks. We’ll get em!!! Haha 😝
  8. Sounds like good fun! Small session, good return! Well done 👍 cheers scratchie!!!
  9. Great post Anthman! 👍👍👍
  10. That’s because most fish feed at night time during the full moon period and the currents can be all over the place. I often think I just get lucky during these periods but I stick to my motto of “just keep casting”. Some of those good reds can be one in 200 casts! Then other days you get the right conditions and I can land 3 in a row! But you’ll never find out sitting at home and wondering if the fish are biting! The key is to look for bait and structure!
  11. Haha Sam, -4.1??? Fishing the Atlantic mate! Good catch of reds there! Perfect for a whole baked snapper each! Bummer about the transducer though! 😩 cheers scratchie!!!
  12. At least you got out Luke. Reef fishing for anything decent is always tough on a full Moon period. Beats sitting at home! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Great stuff Paul. Sounds like a fun session! Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Looks like an epic trip Fil. A meter queenie on a 2500 reel would be a screamer! One place on the cards for me at some point in my life! Thanks for the great post and photos! Jealous! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. It was certainly tough fishing that night Rick. We were just south of you as you know and managed 5 on sps just before dark. We anchored up and as you said, the current was all over the place! All we got was a huge shark on a live bait but nothing else. Pulled the pin about 8pm. Home by 930 and back to work at 2am! 😩 I think a combination of full moon, change of currents, heavy fishing pressure over the last two weeks have added to some poor numbers! But they are still there and a bit of rain and wind could stir them up! I will update a post today! Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Congrats Toby! A lot of fishos spend many hours looking for those ghosts! Well done to you! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. Good on you Baz. I was just shocked you had no dramas lol 😝 And yes mate, your turn next time! Thanks for the day and I hope the fish tastes good! Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. All my fish are just squire! Well anything under 80 anyway! 😝
  19. Haha, yep! There’s two less fish in the ocean. Cheers Luke! I’m sure they would have struggled. Both fish were in the 60’s and 70’s!!! And very fat!
  20. Gday raiders, Just a quick report from the beautiful Port Stephens today! Headed out with a couple of raiders @Berleyguts and @Aerialangler to see if we could find a few snapper. We met up at the ramp at 530 and headed out for some live bait. It wasn’t showing much on the sounder so after a few quick drops of nothing, we packed up and headed to Broughton. Trying to catch one on sps was the game of the day and on the first or second drift Kent came up tight on a nice one that put up a great fight and was soon into the boat. A Pb for him and a nice one at that. Next drift and after many changes of sp I finally hooked onto a good fish that was taking plenty of drag. I’m pleased to say everything held tight and Baz was kind enough to net the brut for me! After that we had a few boats around us driving up the drift and the wind ever changing making things difficult so we decided to change areas. The next few spots didn’t yield much other than some bycatch and the snapper seemed to have disappeared. We stuck at it for a while but decided to call it a day and a have beer with a slow drive back to Port! Seen a few whales splashing about and had a few buzz’s from the jets, great day out in the water! Thanks to Baz and Kent for a great session! Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. Nice work jdanger! Ive done the same trip as you exactly rick! But we didn’t land a fish. We had two follows and the boys got excited. I was so bored! I came home and bagged out on snapper just to get my fix! You fellas chasing trout certainly earn them! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. Great to see you our fishing with the kids. The important part is they had a ball. Keep at it with the sps! It’s a rewarding way to fish! Cheers scratchie!!!
