  1. Great fish Rob. The water temp is rising quickly with the better weather and the fish are responding accordingly. There will be some terrific fish caught over the next 8 weeks! Great photos as always mate Cheers Ian
  2. Some more quality fish for the smoker Peter. Good to see you were undeterred by the fog. Great photos as always mate! Cheers Skip
  3. Good on ya Gary! All those sleepless nights and checking and re-checking equipment and weather conditions all paid off. Congrats on a great fish mate. Should go nicely with a cold ale Cheers Ian
  4. Sneaky little bugger! A great photo mate Hodgey
  5. Congrats mate. You managed to salvage a poor fishing trip with a great feed of muddies. What a shame you have witnessed such a decline in numbers and quality It sounds like a new opportunity has arisen with the beach option though! Hope to catch up with you again this year, Cheers Ian
  6. Nicely done Nat. They are a great little lure ... and work quite well on the bream as well Cheers Hodgey
  7. Good on ya Joey! Some great bream in that lot, and you got to spend the day on the water with a highly entertaining Raider Well done on a top day on the water, Stewy Cheers Skip
  8. Flathead and whiting have been two of the targets for the last couple of years, but there is no guarantee it will be the same again this year. Generally they are species from river or estuary, which enables land based fishos to participate as well. All will be revealed on the Eve of the Challenge Good luck! Cheers Hodgey
  9. Nice one fellas, and congrats on the new PB Stewy I'm feelin' your pain, Johnno ... I'm still waiting for my first jewie on lure too I have heard a LOT of good reports about the new Berkley rods. Might be time to add to my collection I reckon! Cheers Skip
  10. to all the Raiders celebrating today! I hope you have a fantastic day Cheers Hodgey
  11. You bloody tackle rat! Now you've just got to catch fish on them. If the rain keeps up you won't have to leave the comfort of your loungeroom! Hodgey
  12. Strewth John, that sounds bloody uncomfortable mate. I hope you are soon on the mend mate, and back out on the water. Cheers Hodgey
  13. I remember being told in the past that the injury depicted was the result of being caught in a net as a juvenile. Not entirely sure if it correct or not but certainly fits the bill I reckon. Cheers Hodgey
  14. Congratulations Donna. Thank you for your tireless efforts ... they are greatly appreciated Cheers Skip
  15. Great effort JJ! After chasing kings and bonnies, no wonder he found flatties and bream boring 2 terrific days on the water, Grant. Hope things are drying out for you art home! Cheers Skip

    Lake Coila

Coila Lake was only open for about 2 months. Prawns in good numbers caught prior to New Year but a lot of recent rain may have changed that. Both lakes getting hammered by tourists over the last couple of weeks and fishing has been reasonably tough for the masses. Good numbers of whiting being caught on poppers. Hodgey
  18. I too had visions of Greg in a hot red 'man-kini' ... Well done mate. That bloke was one VERY lucky fisho. It's a thought-provoking incident, particulalry given the relatively calm conditions you described. Cheers Hodgey
  19. Looks like you had a ball Mick. They are great little battlers on the light stuff. Interesting, a few weeks ago we were getting good numbers of quality bass, all on the surface. Now they have vanished, and most reports appearing on the forum state that they are predominately taking hardbodies now. I hope you get into a few 40+ in the near future ... that'll make the reel sing! Cheers Ian
  20. Nice work Rob. A great feed of fish. Best of luck for 2011 mate Cheers Hodgey
  21. Here ya go, mate: Pirtek 2011 Cheers Hodgey
