  1. The Yellow Dorsal and Tail fins plus the spot (faint as it is) at the top of the gill plate definitely, a Brassy Trevally. But at 24kgs and 100cm definitely not.
  2. First is a Female Crimson Banded Wrasse Second is a Male Crimson Banded Wrasse Third is a Silver Drummer Fourth is a Eastern Kelp Fish Good on you returning them to the water when unsure of what they were.
  3. All photos are excellent, but number 8 I recon is the best. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-08-10/gallery-of-section-winners/8785800
  4. No Horizontal stripes on this fish hence my guess as a Purple wrasse. But always happy to be corrected.
  5. Blackfish

    Forgot the rods

Awesome photos Jon and as Burger said "as usual"
  6. Voice you concerns by filling out the survey is my suggestion.
  7. Top is a Ling or a few other common names "Largetooth Beard" Lotella rhacina and the Eel is a "Green Moray" Gymnothorax prasinus or a few other common names
  8. Fantastic repot Jani, excellent read. Thanks for taking the time to write it up
  9. I don't believe Bamboo Sharks are found in OZ.
  10. No Burtie. It's a Blind Shark Brachaelurus waddi.
  11. You have to be happy with that. You caught some nice fish and three generations enjoying each others company whilst fishing. Not many of us can do that. Thanks.
  12. My guess would be a Purple Wrasse Notolabrus fucicole. Also bad luck with the Flatty, what a buggar.
  13. Never really watched Sienfield, but a great quote .. "The sea were angry that day my friend"
  14. Same here in Sydney, wind mostly from the South. The wind is more coastal, Little Bay to Penrith a big difference.
  15. Saw some off National Park last Monday, thinking maybe Striped of Mack Tuna.
  16. Excellent Red fish there and a cracker of a Stripey. We were out last Monday and saw some fish busting up and were going up the coast at great speed, some that explains it. Yeah and what a buggar about Photobucket.
  17. Thats great news Jon. Congratulations to both of them and the boat captain.
  18. You did the right thing throwing him back because you weren't sure, but next time ..... nice white flesh and excellent eating.
  19. Girdled Scalyfin "Parma unifasciata" Unlucky and greedy little buggar getting caught on that hook.
  20. Spotted Bigeye. Priacanthus macracanthus. A few have come up on here before. Have a look in this section Joel.
  21. The ones you caught are Blue Salmon (Most common name) but also called Blue Threadfin. Eleutheronema tetradactylum. They go like the clappers, but don't grow as big as "King" Salmon. I have heard of some getting up to the metre mark, but the biggest I've seen are in the high 70's cm. Eating wise, I recon they aren't as good as King Salmon, but still pretty good. Quite soft flesh.
  22. Also you may find a Black spotted (Malabar) Rock cod is a different fish.
  23. Juvenile Black Rockcod. Epinephelus daemelli Good work returning it to the water.
  24. I'm with Rick. Sombre Sweetlip. Plectorhinchus unicolour To dark for a Painted Sweetlip and has the red mouth.
