They used to spin up some big Jew on feathers when the Hawkesbury was in flood back in the day but other than that not much.
Places like Winney Bay and Avoca had the limelight.
On-Ya BN, always enjoy reading your reports.
Hopefully we'll be reading one soon on a 1mt fish you get and if we don't keep up the reports anyway.
Thanks.
Not a Pacific Bluefin but still a rare occurrence. You would know if you hooked it spinning for Bream or Flathead.

The only thing I can add to it is I thought it was caught at the Peak and the 60 was the gear it was caught on. 60kg or the old 130.
130 off Sydney, it wouldn't get much use even in those days.
I recon its a Large Scale Saury "Sauria undosquamis" Also the common names have Grinner as Rick said and Lizardfish in them.
They have come up on here before.
That is correct mate.
Now this is where it gets confusing. Queensland Government calls this one and the Goldspotted a "Estuary Cod"
Its a Malabar Grouper/ Blackspotted Rockcod. So is it a Grouper or a Rockcod, buggered if I know but at the end of the day its a "Epinephelus malabarricus".
Bloody common names.
