  1. With the Rock Cod how do you cook them? I have caught heaps of them over the years and never kept one. Maybe need to give them a try.
  2. Looks like a great area to fish, water so calm. When the action is as hectic as that makes for a fun few hours. Happy New year mate.
  3. Blackfish is right, a Wrasse and a Pike, the Wrasse are supposed to be OK to eat, the Pike is smelly, the scales fall off all over the place but they do make reasonable bait.
  4. Trout and Bass from the same water, no unusual, but to add a Flathead, that's unreal. If you have not yet cooked the trout try smoking it, I smoked up 4 yesterday ready for Christmas dinner. 🙂
  5. Me too mate. Have a Merry Christmas.
  6. You always seem to be able to find them mate. Well done, I have not fished Iggys for while, might have to check it out again when I finally get my boat out.
  7. Merry Christmas to All of my fellow Raiders. Hope everyone gets to wet a line over the Christmas / New Year and catches heaps. May 2023 be filled with plenty of great catches.
  8. The Bass seem to have been going off for you recently. Well done 🙂
  9. Another good bag of fish. Well done 🙂
  10. Another good day on the water. Well done Bob. I hit the harbor on Saturday morning with a mate, could not find any squid but got a few Yakkas so fished with them. Did not turn a reel all morning,... 😞
  11. Only ever tried Bass fishing once, we hiked into the Colo River. Did not get a single hit. Where are you getting yours?
  12. Always a good day when you're out on the water. Even if the fish do not cooperate. 🙂
  13. With the line breaking issue, do you make sure to wet the line well before pulling the knot tight? I use 4 and 6lb line when I am trout fishing and have often snapped the line when tying knots. You have to be careful not to pull too hard as it does not take much to break line that light.
  14. Great report and some nice pic's. As Zoran said, the gear worked back then so no reason that it should not work now, as you have proved. Well done.👍
  15. That looks like the remnants of a big King Fish. At least the Shark shared with you so you both got a feed. 🙂
  16. Great report and pic's Zoran. Good to see that you have christened the boat. Think you may need to upgrade the electronics to something with a few more features 🤣🤣🤣
  17. I think it was Talbingo that I camped out by one night on the way to Jindabyne from Adelaide. So yes I have fished it, but only for one evening. 🙂
  18. The lake is open to Trout all year, the rivers have a closed season. During the warmer months the Trout tend to go deep so a lot of the locals, I met quite a few when I joined the Jindabyne Fish club, tend to start fishing at the end of the Ski season, mainly because a lot of them are too busy during the season, then take a break over Christmas and into the New Year, then start again mid to late Feb till the start of the Ski season. one of the problems during the really warm months is that there are a lot of boats around water skiing and generally enjoying the water. Apparently the extra noise in the water sends the trout running for cover. Some of the best fishing is during the colder months. I have been down there with ice and frost covering the boat and -1 or 2 degrees as I launch before sun up. Seen some good fish on those days. 🙂 If you want to talk about how and where message me and I'll give you my phone number so we can talk through your options.
  19. Depending on where/how you fish for trout it is not that strenuous. Put a boat in at Lake Jindabyne and slow troll Tassie Devils is about as easy as it gets, or drive to a spot to sit on the bank at Jindy and throw out a baited hook, then sit back in a chair and wait till the lines needs winding in. Lure casting from the bank is hard work.... Just ask my shoulder right now as it's still sore. 🙂
  20. It sure was, it was so remote that we did not see anything other than wild life, Wallabies, Platypus, a copper head snake and all sorts of bird life. The first person I saw other than Adrian and his wife after leaving Adaminiby was when I was almost back in Adaminaby 4 days later.
  21. Thanks BN, I will absolutely jump at the chance to go there again. One of the best fishing trips I have ever been on.
  22. I don't think life gets much better that's for sure 🙂
