    After Nav lights

And replace that crappy seal as well.
  2. Will need to catch some to try this, sounds awesome, I use white pepper not cracked black pepper and the rice flour as Time28 said , puts more crunch into the coating.
  3. Nice catch, with the bad weather predicted, I did some maintenance on the boat trailer , but it looked good on the water, what happened to the swell.
  4. Congratulations, that is awesome, it will not be long before Ivy has a fishing rod in her hands standing next to you.
  5. Great catch, looks awesome dinner , hope you enjoyed it, the old flattie is an awesome eating fish, well done.
  6. Looks a good haul , as for the lure if it is really dull or scratched badly you can buy a can of chrome spray paint then top coat it with your finger nail polish
  7. I use a chest freezer for burley and bait, but it does get shared with some extra stuff from the house freezer on occassions
  8. Nice effort, great read and now those sounds well. You
  9. Hey Fab1 that is a really neat idea, amazing what the mind of a fisherman comes up with, I use a similar method but instead of pvc piping i use 1 litre yoghurt containers , these empty straight into my berley basket. I like simple easy and no mess.
  10. I had mine just turn itself off, then it would take ages to restart. Check all wiring and connections, no issues. Did this in calm waters or in swell. Changed to a "G" brand and it is wonderfull no issues at all.
  11. Hey Ryza will be off the Lion on Sunday so will keep an eye out but dont like your chances, fingers crossed.
  12. Awesome, will give this a go for sure
  13. I find that floured and pan fried is the best way.
  14. Mullet creek can fish really well or a donut, good spot is straight out from the station about 3/4 way across, also around the oyster leases, but be real carefull in your boat, most of the leases are in real poor state. Either way it is a nice place to fish. There is no speed limit in Mullet creek, so you sometimes get the jet skies up there but not to often.
  15. Wow that is a good pick up, Aussie Salmon are great fish to bag and quiet tasty too.
  16. sounds a good outing, love the garfish, shame you got only the one king but it looks a beauty and will cook up well.l
  17. A couple of items I always carry are, Sunscreen Lip balm Hat for sun Light jacket Okay these things maybe for your use, but are always handy to have in the boat
  18. Fantasticreport , this is good pratice for all ramps, the once a year bloke who is struggling to put his boat in can cause dramas for everyone too, Good reading for all.

    My old boat

Some good info there for you to start with. With the outboard you will likley need to replace the spark plug, all rubber fuel lines, bulb and fuel filter, after sitting that long the impeller will need replacing too and lowler leg oil. The carbie will proberly be gunked up making it hard to start and or run so will need a carbie kit in it too.
  20. This is a question all of us outboard owners will come up against at some stage. I have a old 2 stroke carbie 200 hp 1986 Mercury which just will not die , such a strong motor , heaps of power yes burns oil , noisey but then again I just love the 2 stroke throb, cannot talk to your mate when under way, heavy on the fuel. The options I am looking at is either a etec 150, mercury optimax 150, or a 4 stroke 150 mercury, All have good and bad points , 4 stroke is only slightly heavier, but quieter at mid range and better fuel consumption mid range. That is where I run most of the time mid range. But at this stage can I justifiy to "she who must be obeyed" the cost of a new outboard ( around 20K)
  21. It is a busy area , I was there once and there was a boat with no navagiation or white light on, very hard to see if they do not have lights on.

    Be careful guys

Fantastic result for the lady, it should have never happened in the begining , but a great outcome for her.
  23. Great report and photos, funny how the fish just go off the bite like that, even when you can see them on the fish finder.

It is a shame but unfortunately a fact of life that there is people and companies out that that rip unsuspected people off. Is it a sign of the times, dont know but it probably has been happening from the start of time. Glad you could help out this lady Fab1, you are an every day hero.
