  1. Welcome to the forum and great first post, sounds like you had a great day with plenty of variety. Keep it up.
  2. Great fishing, tried to get out today but did not make it, tied up with the family for mothers day on Sunday, so have booked in next weekend on the boat
  3. Hi Karlos, welcome aboard. Try under the railway and road bridges, Bar Point and around Milsons Passage, Juno Point and Cowan Creek. That should be enough to get you started and give you and your son some fun and a feed. With the size of your boat especially if you have your son with you, watch the open waters around Lion Island, they can get big swells around this area (even around Juno Point). You should be able to catch flatties, bream, tailor, jewfish, mullett and even the odd snapper among them, plus other species. With you boat set it up how it suits you for fishing, and dont be afraid to try something different when fishing. Make sure your son wears a life jacket when he is in the boat at all times.
  4. This was in the local paper from yesterday, video of shark attacking a school of Salmon as a bikini clad womens enters the water meters away. Great video of salmon and shark but nothing of woman, worth a look at. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslocal/central-coast/woman-enters-water-as-shark-gorges-on-huge-school-of-salmon-metres-away/news-story/e058d0561e90bc707099280b4d958a76
  5. That is one nice catch, they look super good, will make a great meal, and bait for the weekend, hope you catch the big silver fella with them.
  6. Great idea that taking some mates from work out, hope they coughed up some dough for fuel , great haul but, sounded like you all had a good day out.
  7. Great post, those hairtail are awesome fish, well done, great that you have taught a mate to fish and he catches a jewie, he will never forget that one.
  8. Wow that is a great lizard, well done, good on the other bloke to give you a hand with the net too. This size fish are great to catch but awesome to release.
  9. Hey Brew have a look at this story from 2014 http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslocal/central-coast/brothers-land-giant-42kg-jewfish-at-juno-point-near-patonga-creek/story-fngr8h0p-1226796695021
  10. Enjoy the break, room looks great, hope the GT's are out in full force
  11. I am all for this release, with reservations that they have done enough testing on other native fish species in the river systems across Australia. Just remember the cane toad and that disaster continues today.

  13. Wow, how lucky would you be to get that close. They are a beautiful creature. Great photo.
  14. Due to the wife being on the sick list , I stayed at home to look after her. Well that was the idea,, I made her a cuppa then went to the boat done some cleaning up and rearranged some things , made up some new terminal tackle , gave the boat a wash and greased the trailer. Just got to love looking after the wife.
  15. It is a great spot around Juno Point, but the weather and the seas can make it difficult at some times. It is a busy spot with plenty of boating traffic to watch out for when drifting ot even anchored up, but many good fish have been caught in that area over the years
  16. Sounds like a busy session, what bait did you use.
  17. Excatly, well done nice looking fish, never fished out of a yak , and I can see why now.Give me my boat with ample room any day. Great vid too.
  18. Yeah that says it, thanks for that , great video.
  19. Hi woody, sorry not in your area, but post in "desperate and boatless" forum. I am sure you will get a fish with a member up that way, usually only need to cover fuel cost. Welcome to this great site. Good luck.
  20. Just remember if you have all your electrics and electronics comming off the one 12volt battery you will have more drain and therefore longer charging time than the other 12 volt battery if it is for only running the Minn kota. What is the charging capacity of the outboard/ inboard motor.
  21. Be interested in the hardtop , I have thought about this option too, keep us posted.
  22. The kingies must have filled up on Garfish before they saw the baited hook
  23. Not big on Cajun spices, but Dill is good, have some growing which the chooks love , will have to use more of this
  24. What herbs do we all use when cooking fish. My favourite go to herb for fish is Corinader, I use this with whole fish (BBQ, baked, steamed) in the stomach cavity , just fill it up with this wonder herb add a squeese of lime and that is it. When BBQing fish I sometimes cut the skin with 3 - 4 knife cuts thru the skin and add common mint to these cuts Corinader has such a fresh taste, it is also good with a sweet chillie sauce. When I cook fillets I sometimes use thyme sparingly as it can have a strong flavour. I grow my own herbs so they are always and close by, I have tried pineapple sage with baked fish but was not impressed by this combination.
