  1. hey wellzy we used to buy luminous green paint from model shops and paint the stems on our luderick floats..if you set up a small led lightpointing out over water you can see your float disappear as easy as in daytime..caught plenty of mullet bream an blackfish this way..rick

  9. depending on the area you could try a slide rig..cast out a heavy sinker then clip slide on with bait attached and send bait down to sinker .very effective off beach..i think they are on youtube..rick

  14. these days shimano daiwa penn pflueger and so on all have quality reels..i own all of the above and generally buy on how the reel feels..all reels have different ergonomics ..big handle small handle bail roller size bearing in bail roller drag knob size too many variables..i have three reels I use for cod all different brands all good reels.hard part is picking which one to use..put a few reels on a rod at shop and feel what they are like to wind..rick

  20. I used to make my own frather jigs ..I use red and white skirt material and large bean sinkers ..tey work I caught a 26kg jew off box head in flood.. ive caught heaps on nobbys and Stockton walls in dirty water..chair legs and other stickbaits work also the new ranges of large placcies..rick
  21. not bad eating but don't tend to freeze well..very nice raw soaked in lime juice or any flavor you like that par cooks them..kiwi fruit works too
  22. outside temp isn't such a prob its the water temp that's the prob..more of a prob on rivers where there is water released from dams.hope this helps...west of Sydney should be fine
