  2. we have been using frozen blocks for years for sharking..just put blocks in fish keeper bag an hang off back of boat.give a shake now and then..if you want burley to sink more use bigger chunks in block and use snapper size net to let chunks fall out..rick

  4. ditto on tryin to keep it running ive only been on site for a short while but ive watched and read for years..surely there is some way of keepin things alive..ive seen other sites close and im a member of a couple of others that all seem to be struggling..i don't get it in this day an age of internet why are internet sites failing..is it us as members ?? I try an look at least a few times everyday..i get knowledge..information..insights..laughs..and much more...sad sad sad day if this goes down the gurgler...rick
  5. fished lake mac yday got three squid and no fish...flicked sps for flatties for hours for zero tried bait at two fave spots for nil...heaps of fresh no bites..got us wondering where all the fish are..rick

  16. I think chasin cod was best option for me..hopin to go crowdy in next three weeks..mackerel below port mac now so should be at crowdy..mates are at Minnie an getting good spotties but don't want to drive that far..rick

  18. 47.5 cm 2.3kg released..not long but very high very wide..we have caught heaps bigger there but just like to have a dangle every now and then just to keep in touch....our biggest released was 63cm I weighed a 58 that was 3.65 gutted gilled.bigger than the old record of 8lb4oz..our two biggest would have nudged 10 .5 lb..there still there so I better get some more beers hahaha
  19. My mate and I thought we would have a fish while we had a couple of beers and chatted only one bream but not too bad t just over 47 cm

  21. seen them wedge in and cant get em out..at the replacement price I wouldn't risk one..i dive a lot and have recovered a few of these over the last couple of years..on sand and gravel they are fine but I wouldn't use one on heavy reef..check my earlier foto these cost bugger all to make.work unreal.and pull out easy..lot cheaper than a sarca..rick

I would like to jump in and thank fab1 for all the time and effort put into a brilliant series of how tos for anybody interested in buying a boat..im a bit of an old salt lol but there was some very interesting points made in this well presented series ..for any raiders out there thinking of purchasing a second hand boat I would recommend reading thru all of this series as there are so many things to look for..congrats fab on your great work...rick
