if you fish by yourself you may get a small benefit from a foil getting your hull on the plane quicker by holding the nose down..otherwise no real benefit..if your having cavitation probs there is something else wrong..rick
just a small tip if you are catching heaps of rubbish fish you are sitting on top of the reef.try moving a bit and fish either the leading edge of the reef .as in where the current is hittin it or the back of the reef where current is taking anything edible off the back where the fish are waiting for a feed...rick
thanks scratchie im givin the nth side a go first where I got some last trip hopefully the sharks aren't goin to be a prob like last time..ive got a ledge nth of sisters might be the go if the reddies are in that area..were they fishing plastics ??
two of us and sleeping gears a bit full in the vsea mate but will try and organize a couple of boats in a few weeks and you will be more than welcome....rick
hate to say it being a faithful yammie rider since 14..but the suzie dr250s are suited to shorter riders....I had an xr350 for years and loved the old lounge chair but the wr426 an now450s are the go..injected.electric start.reliable love em....don't write off the ttr250 either as they are very reliable..neither are as quick as wrs but are more suited to cruising along at constant revs..the wr250s are designed for enduro and are more suited to varying revs as they have wilder cams in them...im not sure for your price but ktm 350 freestyles are easy to ride but DONT like water crossings and drown very easy..hope you find some good ones and get out there ..rick
best idea is tie your jig on and work it near surface..see which way has more action..same with hardbodies...I was using loops before starlo n bushy came into vogue..i had some of the first mr twisters that came into the country forty years ago and was smashing snapper before anybody heard about reds on jigs..i think I will stik to my loops..they hvnt let me down yet and im nearly 55 ..rick
just a thought but check your trim tabs are both working properly and travelling same distance while out of water...you may have some offset in them..rick
if its virtually empty will make it worse as prop torque is sending it to port side on the flat of the vee..add more weight and get the hull buried in the water more and it shouldn't be as bad..rick
green banana prawns at coles are $23kilo and bream an reds luv em..you get a lot of baits for a kilo..we shell them and use half a prawn..better than any packet prawn..rick
the tyrnos are a very good reel for price.i have one and its always been a fave..in my opinion 2 speed isn't worth worrying on 15 kg..i find low gearing and 5 k drag doesn't seem to work 24kg works well..buy a tyrnos u wont regret it..rick
