  2. if this virus could possibly kill other species I would say no..but I think they have tested it fully..i have never seen redfin in any waterway where I have fished so I cant comment on them..one river I fish has carp to the headwaters and is dirty thru the whole system.another I fish has carp up to natural falls and none above so far..clear water all the time..i have seen the natives thriving in both so the cod and goldens in my clear river obviously don't need carp to survive..the amount of small fish I seen on the wknd was amazing..also tiny cod that make the population look so healthy its not funny..the only thing missing in my spot is large fish which I think are being taken by bait fishos during holiday periods..the carp in the downstream section are huge and in large numbers I would love to see them gone or thinned out at least .in my opinion the river would come back to its previous years of quality when I first fished it 35 yrs ago before carp were a problem and the water was clear ......next

  5. well Friday saw my mate n I heading bush..driving thru flogging down rain and thirty knot winds thinkin glad we arnt goin to crowdy head..with no rain showing west of range we were hopeful for some fishable weather..we seen the owner and dropped off a feed of snapper for him and set up camp..we got rained on late fri sat till lunch then sunday night as well..the fish were in a reasonable mood as we nailed a few each before dark..then as light faded the surface crawlers were cracked out and the fun began...we landed half a dozen between us after having missed fifty ;BOOFS; it amazes me how aggressive they are its also crazy how they miss them trebles..we done a lot of hard walking sat and sun morn and at the end count I had 19 and my first time mate had 15....most between 45/54 cm 1 at 56 1 at 60..some small fish were encounted with lots of follows and misses..i have started loading fotos on brag board as I havnt loaded them in my dumputer yet..i landed one that is the smallest ive ever caught..all fish released..all on lures divers spinner blades and surface crawlers...now I just need to make excuses to the missus to go again haha...rick

  12. out of 11 drownings in a 5 mile stretch locally 7 were of Asian descent 1 Canadian 1 yank 2 aussies 1 was my mates son in law he tripped over casting between waves..big sea shouldn't have been there..all these people should not have been on the ocean rocks on those days...that's why we have lakes rivers and harbours...I don't have an answer to the problem I just just put post up so raiders and other readers of this forum can read about the futility of these 'tragedies' I just hope none of you smart people out there ever have to make the decision whether to risk your own life to save some muppet wearing thongs fishing on a dangerous low ledge...cause if you are smart you will be at home havin a beer not standin there to see this happen.....rick
