Jon, what is the weight of your trailer on the rego papers
-
no good trying this weekend as the moon is too full, the best time to go is when there is no moon, or wind and the fog is right down on the water and it is bloody cold - Illawong bay and Smiths Creek is where I go and I have not gone this year yet as my fishing mate is laid up at present.
-
What I also meant to say (the size of your boat governs what trailer is required) if the trailer alone is under 256 it does not require an inspection nor weight tax. - most trailers are 280 or 320kg if you have a 280 kg trailer and you can get it below 256 it is cheaper, a trailer of this size will have mechanical brakes
-
Jon, You have it slightly wrong - if a trailer exceeds 750kg it requires brakes. if a trailer is over 256kg it also requires an inspection and has a $100 weight tax on it. (just because a trailer has a mechanical brake is not the trigger for the extra cost of your rego)
-
I go in the boat just of Little Bay, close enough to even cast from the rocks if you have a long rod and use Garfish for bait -
-
it has the mechanical brakes - I took off the walkway and the spare tyre bracket to lower the weight so that would not affect the insurance whats so ever -
-
The plate on mine is 6.4 (2016) this spec I got of the Stacer website (2019 model) looks like the new ones are a bit shorter
-
-
Also forgot to mention to speed on the flat with this boat is 36 knots - and has no trouble pulling me behind it to ski or a three person biscuit -
-
Been a single axel trailer you can take a few parts off and have it re weighed (normaly 280kls) which in curs a $100 weight tax and inspection every year for you rego, get it down to under 256kls and no inspection and $67 a year instead of $203

Here's my boat, 2016 6.4m Stacer with an Etec 115 - nothing to do to it except put the petrol in and go fishing
-
I would still put the new battery on a solar trickle charger and keep it on it when not in use - I sold my old glass boat that had a 9 year old car battery in it and never had to touch it.
-
I have a 2016 Stacer 509 Searunner with 115 Etec - fantastic boat, easy to launch yourself, Towing with a Subaru Liberty (Hull 500Kls / Motor 203Kls and trailer 280Kls) (just under 1 Ton. OK outside in 1 to 1/12 meter swell (cheap to run) Gladesville bridge to Watsons Bay and back on 1/4 of a tank around 25 to 30 dollars. top speed is 36 knots on the flat. A cubby cabin & bimmy to get out of the weather.
-
Cape Banks just off the point is good on a outgoing tide and swell less than a meter --
-
If you can open the battery cells - buy your self a hydrometer from a car accessory place - ensure your acid in the battery is in the green. If you buy a battery meter make sure it tests the battery under load not just tells you its 12 volts etc etc
-
I certainly would not eat it - not up that far past the Harbour Bridge (Good catch just the same)
-
I think recurve is right poor connections - maybe your engine is not charging battery 2 - (I would get them tested) I have a solar panel that trickle charges mine when not in use.
-
I had that much trouble loading the navionics charts into the Raymarine Voyage Planner software - nobody wants to help you - just buck passing, good luck
-
It also comes with the EVINRUDE WORKSHOP - SERVICE REPAIR MANUALS

I check my 2016 Evinrude with the Diagnostic Tool Kit With Chip CP2102 For Evinrude E-Tec (Obtained from Ebay for around $100) it is a good piece of mind to check if everything is ok. So far I have not seen a problem except for an overspeed error which was easy to a just, If I see problem I would take it to a mechanic so far touch wood. The program is good because it shows the default settings and your engine.
