  1. Good haul of bream! 👍 A few feeds from that lot.
  2. Nice couple of catches scooter! lucky you didn’t run into the puffers out there. They were chewing off rigs when I was out.
  3. Nice catch Albert! love the Dory! Top eating
  4. Plenty of fishing, looks like it paid off this time. Nice feed mate!
  5. Well done mate! it’s nice when they come on like that - even if it doesn’t last for long. Decent sized reddies for inside.
  6. Nice session Mike! can’t wait for you to hook a stray king!
  7. Hi Fishkent, I look for baitfish on the reefs then drift a live yakka through them. Just below the baitfish (bottom 1/4 of the water column). I use a 1.5cm ball sinker, 80cm of 60lb trace with a 7/0 circle hook. on a kayak, inside the hacking I would be slow trolling a live yakka using the above rig. Through the main channels, along the drop off at Lilly pilly (off the dude of the sand flats), down the Channel that leads from Lilly pilly into southwest arm, the Chanel between gunnamatta and buraneer bay, the Chanel into gunnamatta, and the circular 8knot area that leads to grays point. Personally I find the kingfish more active on the last two hours leading into high tide. But they will be active all day. Thanks Welster! The wife tells me to just bring flatties lol I like to switch it up. Thanks Bob! Was happy to get a mixed feed. those toads are terrors! Glad you got a feed of Dollie’s! Not too long left in the season.
  8. That sux! looks like I’ll be seeing you at the tackle store too. I think they follow the boat & come hang around when they spot you. Only way I could escape them the other day was speeding off in between every drop - and then drop down quick within seconds of stopping. Wind up crazy fast too. Easier to do with a JetSki.
  9. Nice catch Dave! some good eating in that lot. Trag still about - thought they may have move on by now. I did see some marks on the sounder that looked like them yesterday, but maybe the livies I was using were too large. enjoy the feed!
  10. Turned it into a nice lunch today! Haha, I’m in there too often
  11. They tend to be most active early morning. I’ve never fished for them at night. Never seen them that ravenous, I couldn’t land bait. If I didn’t wind up super fast they’d get snatched every time. Over 20 livies got grabbed. A few flatties atm, if you can get past the puffers. Will make a nice lunch today I was hoping it would calm down as my mate was waiting up north - he’s got an even bigger set than me - ended up punching out to the fads on his ski. Good luck at port Kembla! Thanks Zoran! seems they’re everywhere outside. My mate saw them at the peak too.
  12. Gday Raiders, Launched from Gunnamatta bay this morning. Met fellow fishraider @Crabstar who was also launching at the ramp. 👍 Plan was to head up around Coogee/maroubra with a mate out of botany, but once I got outside it was rough as guts out there. Decided to wait and see if conditions would get better - which they didn’t. So I hit the bait grounds. Every yakka I’d hook would get smashed by large fish before I could get them up. This went on for an hour and a half. Hooked fish being grabbed, sabiki’s bitten off - non stop. Went through at least 5 sabiki’s. I rigged up a large livie and it took all of two seconds to get smashed. 55-60cm bonitos everywhere. Pulled a couple up and released. Moved to one of my kingy spots. The fish were on the bite for about half an hour. Brought up 3 fish, 2 were size - but only kept one. A few more large bonitos hooked up too. Bonito attacking baitfish A few Kingfish swimming underneath When the bite stopped, decided to try the flatty drift. Plagues of green puffers everywhere. Chewed me off half a dozen times. Worked out if I put a really heavy sinker and dropped it down fast it would avoid being bitten off most of the time. Also had to wind up super fast too, otherwise the puffers would chew my line on the way up. One came on board and was even trying to bite my feet. I’ve never lost so much terminal tackle in one day lol Anyway got the feed I was looking for - 5 flatties ranging from 38-48cm
  13. Nice catch Zoran! Worth the effort to head out wide. I find the good old beef mince mixed with flour will get the yakkas biting when they’re being difficult.
  14. Haha no, but I did read it a few years back and found it very informative.
  15. Nice fish 👍 There’s a wonderful local research paper from 2008 on Dusky Flathead breeding and growth rates, which is a top read. 16. Nice to get away and sounds like your having a good time. Bummer about the prawns. Maybe try again another night.
  17. Well Done James! Beautiful fish The arm burn is real lol Better than any gym workout!
  18. A couple of good fish for the effort. too much rubbish around the ramps especially at low tide - ive sucked up foam, sticks ect. in close not too much of an issue - out wide would be a big headache trying to clear the debris.
  19. Well done! Nice fish 👍 good fun on the light gear eh where were you fishing out of?
  20. Cracker bream! Well done on the PB 🤙 Nice set up too. Love the millerods
  21. this time of the year around deep water & structure - that’s a kingy for sure lol. They’ll grab small 2.5inch Grubz and dust you just like that.
  22. Looks Beautiful out there Neil Successful session with plenty of fish boated, well done!
  23. Good fun fishing new areas! Harder to fish not knowing the local fish haunts, but looks like you did well Rob!
  24. Nice catch Zoran! Great report. plenty of small Dollie’s about atm. They’re everywhere. The larger ones arrived very early in the season. What’s the coating on the mahi? Flour and fried?
  25. Thanks Crabstar! yeah love the crabs! Thanks XD! it’s definitely a fishing machine! The only drawback to the ski is you sometimes get wet when the wind picks up - but can be nice on hot days. Was chasing table fish this week - the better eating stuff!
