  6. wow with the ct i thought it would of weighed more than 164kg impressive. i just looked the standard 115hp merc comes in at 163kg.the old bigfoots used the 150hp gearboxs so it did add at least 10kgs .so they must be same leg with just differrent ratio and bigger internals
  7. the yammy is 1.8l and the merc is 2.1l so the yammi will work a little harder merc ct would be close to 200kg and the yammi ct prob around 180kg .all brands of 4 strokes are good these days you just need to choose what suits you the best good luck and let us know what you decide cheers dunc333

    Buying stuff

the world is weird my truck broke down last week it was the abs pump and module all in one . so mechanic goes to find one big truck place wants $1690 for a 2nd hand one .and another place wants $1969 for brand new genuine one .so of course we bought the new one .and for the other place i will never shop there and never recommened to anyone as well just true rippoff merchants some companys dont know buisness 101 customers dont suffer fools lightly cheers dunc333
  11. im with Noelm here buy a whole new filter setup .clear bowl with drain tap, .peace of mind and always use clean non ethaonol fuel cheers dunc333
  12. its great its for charity and only one day ,its got me thinking maybe the canoe people should put in for the ramp like the rest of the boating public have to .just like the bubble blowers diving on the artifical reefs paid for by the your fishing fee.
  13. burkinhead drummoyne has the best fuel dock in the harbour. the most easy place to get fuel great service pull along side . you can even get a coffee
  14. my mates and I cut our teeth on building the old 2 stroke mower engines and welding them into pushbikes most were my memory 180cc they were great and fast till the cops tod us nooo more boys after a few run ins .we were then informed legally had to be under 22kw to ride on the road my memory im talking 40 years ago cheers dunc333
  15. again some of the old yammi 2 stroke guys i know did it all the time if not using for 4 weeks or so .i never did it with my old dt suzi or the (asbro) as friends used to call it .was a great donk but sucked like a call girl and finally sucome to over heating cheers dunc333
  16. yep agree, what ever floats your boat .pardon the pun🤩
  17. yep agree thats why i stated that they could not agree if fuel stabalisers are any good or not
  18. i listen to fully qualifed marine engineers half of them call it snake oil and the other half say it only works with fresh fuel and it will make the fuel last a bit longer before going off .it defintley does not bring old fuel back to life .my opinion is i dont reckon it would hurt your baby if used . the other thing they used to say top your tanks up after use now the experts say dont top it up till your ready to use the boat again which i do and ive never had a problem touch wood or my head lol cheers dunc333
  19. my mate goes there alot as his wife is japanese last trip i asked for a good overhead and he got me a shimmano reel they dont sell in australia and some great squid jigs they dont sell here. as for cheaper maybe a little bit but they have a lot of choice in tackle there cheers dunc333

    New engine

agree the big three are all good theses days they all have there good and bad but if looked after they are all great.and the main thing you need is a good and honest service tech that dosnt try to drain your bank account .and when you find a good one you tell your mates and so on .a good tech like family cheers dunc333

    boat show

the boat show is smaller this year inside than last time i went.i think it must be alot more expensive for the exibitors to show there stuff, anyway just down at my local ramp (drummoyne) and one of my wish i had boats edencraft has 3 boats there taking anyone for a test ride in them .wow bloody nice boats and then it twigged they are not at the show this year but are doing a east coast tour doing demos and here at the same time as the boat show.i say good on them ,really nice people and i wish i owned one ,they will be there tommorrow to if anyone wants to wish like me cheers dunc333

  25. hi drifta the cross members as you are probably aware rust from the inside out so treating the outside is like putting a bandaid over the .problem. i usually replace cross member or build a 60mm by 10mm by 1000mm strengher with ubolts to give piece of mind before renewing trailer or cross member replacement to get by.Any new gal trailer i have i turn upside down and fill up with sump oil and then block drain holes and then will not rust from the inside out cheers dunc .333.
