  1. That is a smick loookin rod man.
  2. greg, will put up as much info as i can with pricing. But im doin alot of the work my self and have a welder on stand by so im hopping it will be 1k give or take. Thy, Wipers sure be a good thing. I might go to a car wrecker and use one from a car. Have to look into that later on in the build stage.
  3. Brickman, Cheers for the advice. I went to check out a boat forsale near my place to have a peep at his HT. Im goin to use this is a platform to build mine. I really like the center windown opening. Would make retriving the boat easier. If i had a spare 30k i would probably buy this boat!
  4. nlange, Jus wondering if you found out what grade the roof was?? Im goin to start my own HT project and your boat gives me a good lay out of what i need.
  5. hey guys, Had my boat for almost 7yrs now and as you can see from the pic the canopy is on its last legs. Most of the oringnal stitching has deteriorate and im sick of stiching it by hand over and over again to hold it together. I got quote $500 jus to recover the top or $800 with the clears. Ive been doin alot of off shore fishing and had 1 experience where we got soaked by big swells and a westerly. So im thinking of doin a hard top my self since my brother is a tool maker and is a pro welder and im a DIY king so which leads me to think we not have a hard top for my boat Tonight is the kick off to my biggest project on my boat and i hope it turns out well. So any input in this project will be greatly appreciated. Before Maybe after well probably not as smick as the BC but not to far off. Im thinkin the main frame and the rocker launchers will be out of SS and the roof will be alloy. But i have no idea about the screen. Anyone in the trade of boat window screens or perspec?? Keep a eye on this thread for updates.
  6. Ill be out there on friday if the weather smooths out abit.
  7. The peak most probably has a bigger grave yard for jigs. If only some smart guy invented a big enough magnet to bring the jigs back up he probably be a millionare!
  8. Hey raiders, Finally the weather and the day off work aligned up to for us to have a cracker on day on friday. Took us a few spots to find the kings but when we did it was arm breaking stuff. Mostly leagl to the biggest was 85cm and a masssive bonnie also lost 2 solid kings . Esky filled up so fast to the point that we let a few legal kings to fight another day. IF only every jigging trip was like this! apart from losing jigs to jackets it was a perfect day! cheers the crew.bmp
  9. You are one lucky person!!!!!!!!
  10. awesome man!!! what colour did the trick?? Were the jackets in numbers there??
  11. We got out yesterday and what a cracker of a day!! I didnt get to texas but we did keep our self amuse with some kings.
  12. Hey raiders, Anyone wanna share some experiences with single hooks set up on lures..?? What would work best out of the 3 different hook set up?? TIA
  13. Not really a fan of the the brand but when a store has a 30% sale i changed my mind. Stocked up on a basket full of knife jigs (unrigged) for $8 and a snapper snatchers for 70cents each!! I saw the FC line but i stick to the proven brands in that range.
  14. Imo your transducer is facin the wrong way. It should be more flat with your hull or even a slight facing upwards, not like yours facing down.
  15. Greg,You sure know how to spoil your self I would think you need the PR bobin to connect your leader to your main. 150lb with a albright knot would be chucky!
  16. Got to give it to you man you always do well with squid in the bay .... not like my self
  17. My mate brought a saltist 6500h for jigging which now is back at daiwa under warranty . I know not all reels are 100% but the sad news it that it only has 1 yr warranty not the typical 5yrs. My 2cents
  18. Greg, Cheers for the info! Im happy to say i have a 10" lumo in my spread and a few more other colours that i hope will raise one up from the deep. Well done on your catch
  19. Great catch greg! Im still tryin to chase my first marlin ever!! Can i ask what lure and colour did the beast take??
  20. Great report mate and love the pics. That shot of the marlin sure looks bigger then 150kg tho.
  21. Mate i jus brought my self a JM powerspell for $380 which im very happy about. Pm me if you want more details.
  22. Mate ive had a problem like yours when i first started boating but i have figured out what works best for my boat. I have the same winch and same lenght of chain which previously was only 4mtrs. I have a 15lb anchor which holds much much better by adding that extra 6m on. Once i get a good hold on the ground i would use the winich and wind up abit of slack line which pulls the nose of the boat down and helps with the swinging...
