Magic Tuesday

Nicked down the end of my road for my first “open season” Bass session. Fishing at the mouth of the Colo (in my LGA).

FeralCat purple and pink and black and silver deep divers (5+) did the damage. These are a great lure by a local  fisho (Greg Gatt). First 3 fish took 10 mins and several more hits  that didn’t stay hooked up  (pretty common with Bass). Not quite the same as fishing Kingies, but love the peace and quite of God’s creation - lots of creeks and tributaries in the Hawkesbury.
Also hooked (kept and ate) a 42cm Dusky flathead - amazing how far up the system they travel.
All Bass released (love them too much to eat) and big fat, healthy specimens. This fella only little @ 33cm but gave a good account on 6lb gear.

Frank - yep, the ramp has now been concreted and good at high tide or a small tinny, not so good for anything over 5m, but great for Kayaks / Canoes. Not good at lowish tide as a big hole at the back left side ( looking at the water) that catches trailers.
