Hugh Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 (edited) So I’m in a season of navigating what the next stage of life looks like, what better way than on the water with my rod and my God. I haven’t really fished Botany before, other than a nosy around last week having fun with Tailor. The weather was howling with a westerly making much of the bay unpleasant in my 4m tinny. I picked up a few yakkas and a couple of squid then sought protection of Molineaux and basically parked up for a few hours with podcasts. Textbook, turn of the tide, unweighted yakka out the back got smashed by this guy. It would not be appropriate to fail to mention @Picklesfor his tutoring. 88cm has set my new PB. Yowie Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 That is a very nice kingie, certainly worth it considering the wind.
Larkin Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 Well done on the PB! Good to see some Kings around.
Pickles Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 Hugh - that is one good kingie - God is good and it’s looking good for the coming season. Great that you have a bit of time to invest on the water - looking forward to spending some time on the water with you midweek.

FishyMcFishFace Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Nice catch mate, I'm absolutely exhausted trying to catch a Kingfish like this. 5 mornings in a row this week!
Tommy TJ Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Nice king mate, sounds like a good day on the water. Nothing better than the sound of the reel screaming interrupting your podcast!
Isaac Ct Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 Very nice King considering the conditions you put up with. Well done.
