Not quite the response I anticipated but at least your safety conscious.

    Like Button

The problem I see here and other forums I frequent is people have taken the time to post getting over 100 views with out a single "Like" or "Comment" added. I personally couldn't care less if I post something and don't receive the above but I'm sure there's people on here that care more than me. That's how a site gets stagnant IMHO. Having a like button is a waste of time in my opinion too. People need to post with enough info on their subject and the readers need to acknowledge the Op by adding a comment. I think this is an area where we can all improve. Thanks.
  3. The big hardware sells dollies too that may be of intrest. You only need to move it a little so I'd be inclined to use what does the job for you.
  4. I had the same issue with my old boat and found a modified trolley jack worked brilliantly for the task.I had a towball mounted in the jack instead of the saddle and was very manoeuvrable.I know you probably don't want to go to that extreme. If you lack strength/bodyweight, I'd go the electric jockey wheel.

    Jack safety

Had the young nephew here again with me and I decided it was time to do a little safety mod to my bottle jack to make it safer when lifting as I had it slip a little lifting a float the other day. All it is is a pipe welded on to flat stock we bent up that slips over the existing saddle to give a larger surface area. Make sure you have some sort of Jack that can safely lift the weight of your rig and is small enough to fit under the trailer when you have a flat tyre. The safest places to lift are directly under the fishplate, axle placed as close as possible to the leaf spring/wheel or on the frame itself. Remember to never let your body under the trailer which is only held in the air by a jack.Use the jack and place at least one stand on the side you've lifted. Cheers.

Now your just bragging Stu.lol.I reckon you could throw a lure into a puddle after rain in the street and catch a fish.Great result mate.
  7. Bear In mind that owners that have bought brand new boats have invested a lot of time and money further into them by adding say the latest and greatest sounders, trolling motors, engines etc too. Im yet to see a used boat that's been bought from a dealer "Un modified" sold for the same money10yrs later.
  8. Don't blame you,it's a great game that really gets the reflexes going.
  9. Good stuff mate! Can't say you didn't have a good go.In the end you took home a feed.
  10. You really are having a tough time with this boat purchase you poor bugger.Stories like this is one of many reasons people by new. Keep at it mate, but please bear in mind your looking in a price bracket that you will need to dig through all the rubbish if you want to find a gem amongst it. I don't know what more to tell you mate as the wasted time, money, travel and frustrations is really unavoidable when buying used especially at the lower end of the spectrum. I,d be having a rethink if maybe I could increase my budget, lower my expectations and buy a smaller newer boat etc. Remember you can buy brand new tinnys with warrantys which will get rid of all the headaches with buying used that you can add to as funds permit if you wish. All the best mate.
  11. You certainly are the queen of games Donna. My favourite card game would probably be Canasta followed by Euchre.Christmas time is the same for us and I always have a good supply of Panadol for the day as we are a big, competitive, family which is known for giving the term noise new meaning. It would have to be a split decision if my 4 brother in-laws are the loudest or my wife and 4 sister In-laws.I think the girls take it by a whisker and regardless I end up with a massive headache and so do half the neighbourhood.lol.
  12. Excellent, good, fair, reasonable etc condition are all subject to the individuals interpretation. It's all part and parcel of buying a boat, house, car, etc. Convince yourself that this is part of the fun in the hunt. That's what I do to stop myself from being the one that has reduced the worlds population by one when I come across those very people. My tips to any sellers out there is be as honest and upfront with any item/object you may be selling including photos from every angle etc. If only everyone did that it would minimise someone else's displeasure. Cheers.
  13. The days when there where decent shows on telly, they will be sadly missed.
  14. Yeah, you'll find Fran Fine inside it too.
  15. Lawn bowls is a bit like darts, people think it's boring. But to be good at both of them certainly requires skill.I play/ed both at competition level in my fairly short lifespan among other things.I got down to a 4 handicap at golf (self taught) and was good at tennis, ping pong etc which I would play all day at times when free. These days i don't have the time to scratch my backside really and wish I was playing them all still. I use to love(And still do) like family board game/card nights. That's a sport isn't it? Enjoy yourselves guys.
  16. I probably shouldn't say this but I like to have a good time with my work mates and thought I would get one of them a beauty. So I photographed his car one day and put it up for sale at a very low price giving his mobile phone number and name. To say he got bombarded didn't do it justice while we all chuckled at him complaining to us what had happened to him.
  17. On a side note,I would of thought that the penny would finally drop to sellers that have their boats up for sale for months and months that perhaps it was time they re-wrote their adds or dropped the price etc.I see it regularly on various selling sites the same boats up for sale over and over.
  18. Gumtree attracts those imbeciles.I put my tinny up two years ago and they either wanted to swap for silly things or pay me $5500 and less. You can guess what I told them can't you?If your serious go with the others and pay for the add. Good luck with it.

    Anchor Selection

Totally agree mate.I love seeing peoples solutions to common problems and can't get enough of it.Top job once again mate. There's an older pommy bloke at work that has a ute,12ft tinny,no trailer and no storage at home to keep his boat.He told me he's making a winch mechanism to winch it on the back of his ute and a contraption that involves a bridle that hangs from his ceiling at home that the boat is suspended by when not in use. Any way what he described to me sounded viable and I can't wait to see his contraption built too.
  20. If your guy is telling you something WALK AWAY there's plenty of boats out there waiting for a PATIENT buyer.
  21. Make sure you DONT hand over money AGREE to anything or SIGN anything until your completely satisfied with the boat, the run and the sea trial. Good luck with whatever you decide to buy mate.
