We caught probably 20 today all around 25-30cm. Couldn't get rid of the bastards, so minus 40 points today! If you like them that much, take a trip to broughton island and you'll bag out in 3 minutes! -

There are also two spots in Newcastle to target them. One is off the breakwall and the other is in the harbour itself. Although, I'm pretty sure it's too late in the season for them up here now. Cheers scratchie!!!

Try the party section in kmart. If your wanting them to chase hairtail, the color is irrelevant. Green or blue will work just fine. Cheers scratchie!!!

After many years and 40 plus rod and reels, I know whats on them just by looking at them! That might be sad but yes I'm addicted! And if it gets to the point that I can't remember, then it's time for a respool. Cheers scratchie!!!

Well done fellas! Great story and an even better result. It's funny, because all the planning you do for a trip and then targeting a fish but when you finally hook up, KAOS! A skipper I go gamefishing with always says...... "It's 95% waiting for that 5% mayhem" But how exciting it is! Great work! Cheers scratchie!!!

Great stuff Krause. A good spot to launch, not much tidal flow and some pretty scenery! Unfortunately jackets can be everywhere. Down there your generally a chance of some salmon and trevally too! Great sporting fish from a yak! The best thing about a yak is yet to come.........SUMMER!!! Enjoy Cheers scratchie!!!

Lol Krause! I hope your fit? Remember the further you go down stream, the further you have to paddle back! With winds like that I would try bobbin head and paddle up Cowan creek. Very protected area in winds. Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
