  1. Hi mate pretty much all my bream setups are loaded with 0.6pe (very thin braid) and I run 4-6lb leaders. If you're running light hard bodies the light line definitely helps casting distance, but can take a bit of management. Wafting baits not so much of a drama
  2. Nice one mate, went out with a plan and nailed it. That first one is a nice size. Thanks for the write up
  3. Seen a few blokes manage to aquaplane without a skid on the bottom but not in the ocean haha! Maddison is always fun to watch
  4. Baha mate I got a text at work that just said "kiiinnggggiiieee!!!"Excited is an understatement. Epic catch mate! Had to happen glad it happened so soon after blooding the new outfit! how good is that fight! Hope there was some blistering runs!
  5. Awesome mate! Good to see some winter results, can be a harsh time! Glad you got to test the new outfit Bad luck on the jewie attempt, it's a real bugger trying to work plastics in the dark haha. Always be another chance Keep it up!

    Kayak advice

Foot power will only be available from Hobie or Native, and that will significantly blow the budget mate.

Oh, and regardless of brand a rudder is a must!! Not just for turning, bit makes tracking straight so damn easy

    Kayak advice

G'day mate, been doing a lot of my fishing kayak based at the moment and it's definitely a heap of fun Actually looking at an upgrade to.a hobie next year to up my game [emoji14] Things to consider: height and weight? For anything you want to handle a bit of chop with and swell out in the port etc a decent length is the go. If you're seeing the new ones at about 600 it's probably the one I've got, sold under a few names but just shy of 4m long with foot rudder and black centre console? If so they're perfect for the money. I've been out in chop and swell and been pummeled by ferry wash and other boats and never felt like I was going to go in. They paddle well and cut through the waves rather than slapping them. great way to see if you like it Otherwise you'll find plenty of the name brands second hand at that price, Ocean Kayak do a few good ones that will handle the bay work even better. Any other questions lemme know
  9. That's the method I use top knot Great strength and I've got 100% confidence in it. And makes heavy leaders and small guides a non issue don't worry too much about alternating the half hitches, just evens it out a bit more. I even do overhands instead of halfs in really slick light braid to lock them better
  10. Mate! Well done, very keen to check out the 3zero series. Just got my first ci4 as well they're a too reel, I'm sure you'll love it. That should put some mean beasties at your feet Back from a few weeks overseas so definitely keen to have a flick. You might see me on the kayak on the parra tomorrow
  11. Woo new toys man! You must have really pissed off the gf haha. your current fj will do most of your mid work (get some jap braid like the ygk or even sunline and you can get thin diameter for heavy break strain) maybe even a second spool, Then go for about a 4000ish shimano or 3000 daiwa. The FK stradic will be out within a month or so, so expect great savings on the fj if you're still into em Have a look at samaki zing extreme they do a great 7 footer in the 3-6ish range that I was going to get but ended up with the black label. Love my black label and the v2s are even better apparently so check them out. Handled a rat king no worries. Have fun choosing! Its half fun half pain!
  12. Do all my fishing (99% lures) with braid to leader, fg knot is your best friend. Double uni has served me well over the years as well. Never needed to double and salmon in the surf 20lb to 20lb with an fg will land anything.
  13. Awesome report mate. Georges has definitely been consistent this year, good bag there. I know the endless jew search, just gotta keep plugging! Might try tee up that session soon
  14. Mate I run this mount with my Garmin echo 300c. Sellers all clear into the bottom of the yak, little foam cut to hold the goop. Thats it. Works perfect. Standard transducer etc and all fine. They have zero problem shooting through a bit of plastic. I fish rough launches and scrape on oysters etc so can't afford to stick it out a scuepper
  15. Haha I knew it! Soothsayer Witha congrats man! Definitely well deserved a great report too!
  16. Very nice mate, you've got em nailed! Wish the hours I put into em landbased converted into those sort of scores !
  17. That's awesome man! Great report, good on you for getting him stuck in! He sounds like me i want to catch all the fish
  18. Awesome guys, you're leaving me twitching with all these silver slabs you're pulling up...green with envy!
  19. Of the ones you listed the vapour is an awesome rod, the blank and build quality on the nitros are excellent. And they will stop fish well above their weight. I know people are fans of the Gen blacks but after playing with a few models they haven't quite impressed in the same way the nitros have. My 2c
  20. Awesome report boys well done! Covered a heap of ground there, shame about the possible jew, it'll happen man! Nice Sambo too what did he take? Excellent work!
  21. Very nice report mate glad you found the fish Would love to see a shot of that cuttlefish!
  22. I've got a hatch at the front with a dry bag that I turn into a wet bag with ice if I'm taking something home
  23. Awesome report mate. Bit of barter on the water and a the day is saved haha
