Honestly like to communicate with a human voice and know your 100% logged on phone coverage only works to a limited distance. Have recently registered with the app. Have found positions can be hard to pinpoint with the app whereas with marine radio you can give a more exact position also keeps you more alert to your position if all goes bad. When this was ever to happen you still speak to a human providing you are trained correctly. Probably I’m old school.

Depends on how much elbow grease your willing to use. If it’s not too oxidised just wash and cut back with an electric buff using a foam buffing pad with compound to suit the required finish then wax. Took me three days to do my boat but was very oxidised being a coloured hull. Got it wrapped now only the white on top now requires work. It’s a %%%%% of a job. But the result is worthwhile.

A bad earth can cause major headaches different components are earthed independently which will make fault finding hard. Have had problems previously with a bad earth in control box causing intermittent spark.

Worst of the problem being the stainless steel used in inferior Chinese tools is not 316 grade more chrome and nickel which makes it less resistant to corrosion still needs to be mirror polished and looked after. The smoother it is less spots for corrosion to build up.

Check the wiring from coil to cdi unit for an open circuit with an ohms metre possibly a broken wire sounds like coil not being powered

Playing with fire once the filter is clogged with debris nothing will help. Sounds like your lucky. That’s why there a replacement item.
