  1. Sounds like you have covered the fuel side so it comes back to electrical. Book it into Huey and let them figure it out, Save yourself buying parts you don't need or breaking down at the worst possible time. Jeff
  2. Anyone who puts a boat in this weekend has rocks in their head. There is a ton debris floating on the surface and just under the water. There was some twits water skiing on Sunday, I was waiting to hear the sirens going and the care flight chopper overhead. The river will settle in about 2 to 3 weeks as there is still mega litres of runoff flowing into the catchments. The colo was the highest I have seen for many years with lots off crap floating out. When she settles down there will be good fishing from Lower Portland ramp right through to Colo Bridge. A good spot to try is Yarramundi Bridge for bass, perch and the odd trout that gets over the weir. Just be careful, one young guy lost his life there last year. Jeff
  3. Like Geoff said be watchful of the weather as Botany bay is not a good spot in a small boat when the wind kicks in, there has been a lot of boating accidents on the bay over the years and most of them should not have happened. Pick your day, keep a life jacket on and watch the weather and you will have a good safe trip. Taylor Bay is a good spot after a blow for school jew and big bream. Jeff
  4. Hi Steve, where did you buy it from and how much did it cost? Jeff
  5. Didn't take you long to work out how to add the picture, 12 minutes according to the post times! Nice bream mate. Jeff
  6. Well done, now that's what it's all about! Family enjoying the best sport in the world bar none. Jeff
  7. Hi Tony, I mince the fish and feed to the chickens and they love it. I have tried carp in the crab traps before but didn't have any luck with them. Regards Jeff
  8. Send it to Canberra and it can put it's snout into the trough with the rest of the pigs. Jeff
  9. Fish move out with the flood waters. If your fishing fresh water than go to where the water is saline and that's where you will find there gone and then as the salt starts coming back up they also move back to where they were. If fishing salt water go to where the rivers are slowing the down and you will find fish waiting for all the food being flushed out of the inland areas. Jeff
  10. Good last post Roberta, I hope everything goes well for you ( I know it will ) Look forward to reading your next post which I would suggest won't be too far away. Jeff
  11. Top catch mate. Would have been nice to score a boat for doing something you like. Jeff
  12. We have caught them at night on nippers but not weed without floats. Always good as they fight different when picked up on a weightless line. Jeff
  13. Fantastic pic's. If only I could take a picture like that I'd give up my day job! Regards Jeff
  14. I didn't see Steve S catching a Jew on fly but as the only way you would get one is as you say Stew is with a sinking fly line. Jews are a bottom to mid water (at best) feeders. Regards, Jeff
  15. Decided to go and catch some mullet for crab traps before the bad weather set in. We decided on Cattai Creek, fishing from the reserve. We put heaps of bread burley out and waited for the mullet. No mullet to be seen. Then a sucking sound from the surface indicated an unwanted resident was having lunch. A couple of small balls of bread squashed around the hooks tossed into the middle and slowly sinking out of sight resulted in 2 huge strikes. They may not be the fish that you want to catch but they sure put up a great fight. Didn't have a measure with us as we were only fishing for bait but the foot is a size 10 shoe so you can judge for yourself. Regards, Jeff
  16. Just got back from local stream and trying to resize pic's to put post up. Will give you details and location as soon as I can work out this windows 8, hopefully tonight. You will want to try where we got them as their size is big to say the least. Regards Jeff
  17. When you catch a cuttlefish they let down 2 long legs/feelers that's their candles. When you find dead cuttlefish floating around you will usually find that the snapper are on the bite. Whole small cuttlefish are good snapper bait. Regards Jeff
  18. Mate cuttlefish are not a good bait! The candles however are a top snapper bait. Regards Jeff
  19. Between Spencer and Bar Point, on the right side heading out about halfway you will see mangroves. Regards Jeff
  20. Live bait or large baits. Usually you won't get a big one if catching soapies, not that there isn't one lurking around but because the little ones are quicker and less shy to take a bait. Big one's like hanging around deep holes and eddies where small ones can be caught just about anywhere. Regards Jeff
  21. The biggest was 43cm and most were around 30cm Regards Jeff
  22. I went with my son this morning to try for some swimmers. Put the traps in 3 differnt locations and could not entice any blues. Did not want to go home empty handed so we tried a mud crab location we know and set all the traps in about a 20 metre line. Sat back and enjoyed a couple of coldies. First 6 traps nothing, 7th trap was well out of place, first thought we had dropped it in a hole and it had drifted. Pulled the last 3 traps, the same as the first 6, nothing. Time to get the wayward trap, as Heath started to lift the trap he said either we have a crab or its fouled. Suprise, suprise, suprise, a nice muddie that tangled we had to destroy the net to get him out. 1 muddie is worth 10 blues anytime. Crab in black bean for dinner tonight!!!! Regards Jeff
