  1. I can imagine the adrenaline he had trying to land that Trevally on light gear. What a great session on the Hacking and good feed.
  2. You are on fire with fishing Larkin. Well done for putting in the effort and producing consistent results.
  3. We had lunch there a few weeks ago with friends, it was a very nice feed indeed. My daughter is starting her paramedic career in Bombaderry so I am sure we will be going back soon.
  4. Nice catch, the whiting looks like a stonker.
  5. Hi Zoran, No trips for me unfortunately. The year hasn’t started that well really and there has been plenty of other family things happening. I am very keen and long overdue to get out on the water, hopefully it happens soon.
  6. You have to love it when a plan comes together with plenty of quality meals coming up for three omigos. Hopefully your leg heals up without to much fuss. That's an impressive amount of deck space on Devocean and you needed it for the brag mat!
  7. What a great session, thanks for the report Larkin. I always enjoy seeing how people turn their catch into a tasty meal as well.
  8. Such a beautiful place and a few fish for your efforts would be a bonus. A few years ago we camped at a Long Plain campground on the way to Blue Water Holes, I’d love to go back again.

    Tragic event

Hopefully he has a full and speedy recovery. It was lucky he was close to people that could offer assistance straight away giving him the best outcome possible. Now I am over 50 I have been wondering for a while about acquiring an AED but havent looked into it. I hate a cousin (just under 50 at the time) that had a heart attack whilst camping in a remote area with a 2 hour drive to help. Fortunately it worked out for him. Help is also closer than ever with the right gear and thinking about the money people spend on their cars, boats and vans, carrying life saving equipment like an AED is probably not that expensive.
  10. Thanks for the report @Larkin. It looks like you had nice conditions out there and had some fun for your efforts. Do you have a live bait tank on your ski? I am looking forward to getting out there myself in a couple of weeks.
  11. Hi Yowie, here is the link to the DPI site showing the FAD locations and distances out. https://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/recreational/resources/fish-aggregating-devices Screenshot of the Navionics App.
  12. Absolutely it is so frustrating. Surely it would be in their best interest to fix their processes. It might cost a bit but so does returning a boat from Sydney to their Queensland factory and back, and to have the repairs repaired a few months later locally.
  13. We have gone to quite a bit of trouble to minimise the bubbling a few different methods. Drilling out fixing points. Using nylon screws washers snd nuts instead of self tapers, aluminium rivets in others. Using sikka flex on some fittings and Tefgel on the few spots with self taping screws. My thoughts are most of the bubbling paint is caused by paint damage and imperfections. Boat builders take little care putting in self drilling screws damaging the paint around the fixing. As soon as the moisture and air can get under the edge where the paint is damaged the aluminium can oxidise just like on an unpainted boat. It lifts the paint and keeps spreading as it goes. As frustrating as it is it will happen to all aluminium boats over time. It will take longer and happen less on boats put together with care. I think the aluminium they use for the ladder brackets is rubbish (maybe cast?). FYI on my boat we had bubbling soon after purchase. The manufacturer claimed they use “grease” around the fixings the install because Tefgel is to messy. We never saw any evidence of any “grease” anywhere when removing fittings.
  14. @Fab1 has an excellent tutorial on wheel bearings on the forum. Here is the link for part 1.
  15. Well done Basil, good to see you having a break after a tough year. Jason
  16. Congrats on a cracking fish. Well deserved too.

    Members Boats.

Congrats @zmk1962 DevOcean looks awesome I am looking forward to the posts of your adventures.
  18. I am very sorry for your loss Ash. I only met Bruce once at the FAD we had a chat. His knowledge and love of fishing and family was evident in all of his posts. RIP
  19. Awesome report Larkin and congrats on your first SP red.
  20. The modern apprentices wielding rotary impact drills just don’t appreciate what its like to drill into hard bricks ir concrete with a traditional hammer drill. Things are so much easier with modern tools. A 9 inch grinder s definitely up there with the most dangerous tools. Christmas light installation of dodgy ladders has ruined far more than just Christmas for many.
  21. Well done again Yowie. Your consistency is very impressive.
