  1. Nice bag yowie I can never seem to get a legal red whenever I'm on the hacking but thats not to often. Nice king to mate! Apart fron being great on the bbq I love the kings done sushimi style or also cured & part of a salad. Its been ages since I've been to the port, might have to be my next trip
  2. Well done to you & the missus Interesting that they just went for the store bought squid! Was it whole though or strips?
  3. Well done Penguin. Looks like the kings have been fished pretty consistently in the bay for the last 4 weeks. And if course I havent had time to get out Well at least someone is enjoying themselves.
  4. Nice kings & soungs like a grwat day out for the family
  5. Whereare you eating the fish? If so just be aware there is a point on the river where it is not recommended to eat the fish from that point westward! Just like in Sydney harbour
  6. Beats lining up at the fish market & getting stung in the hip pocket! Nice fish mate
  7. You can always rely on the bay to provide some decent flattys for the table
  8. Nice report & great of a local mod to show you a few spots. Cant beat the bay for the scenery, but its better fishing from a boat.
  9. Nice work off the sand mate Never seen or caught a catfish in the bay before
  10. Nice one wchh. Im kicking myself for not fishing wanda at all over the.summer but then the spare time I have is spent in the tinny. Where abouts were these caught? I want to try down near greenhills next time I go. I even bought a new light surf outfit in the xmas sales & it hasnt even been christened yet
  11. Um this is actually the fishing reports page, not general fishing talk! There's Congwong beach, yarra bay beach & Frenchmans bay beach as well.
  12. Nice catch there Mischief ? What sort of rig were you using? Paternoster with a popper or just a rolling sinker type??
  13. I've never caught a legal red in the hacking but you seem to come home with one or 2 each time. Must be the.nippers as Im just using prawns? Do you ever get over to the botany side yowie for some flathead action??
  14. Bonito is ok when its super fresh but you should bleed it straight away & get it straight on ice. Otherwise the flesh gets very soft & turns a dark colour.
  15. Sounds like I went home at the right time then. How do you get a 120kg bloke out of the water quick.............yell shark
  16. Sounds like I should have come over! I see so many boats there all the time but no one ever seems to catch anything. I got a couple of nice 50cm blue spots & a couple of flounder for the table. Still would have liked a bit of fun with some rats though.
  17. I was the old 1969 quintrex mostly on the south side of the channel markers. I did notice 4 yaks over at molly with the rest of the fleet. Anything happen over there? Saw a couple of yaks also head over to the drums mid morning.
  18. Started out pretty late this morning & an hour after the.turn of the tide. Still had a good 4 hour session taking abour 10 blue spots, keeping 2 @ 50cm & 2 flounder. Also caught 2 large occy with one getting off at the boat. The other one is going to be slow cooked for a couple of hours & then bbq'd & made into a nice salad. Not as many taylor around as normal but some decent schools of scad on the surface but no kings chasing them unfortunately. No signs of the juvinile great white either but I was being a bit paranoid & kept turning to look & see if it was chomping on my prop ?
  19. Bloody hell 4M shark at Molly Im heading there in the morning in my 3.9M tinny
  20. Welcome to the forum. sounds like you needed.some wire trace! Also just a tip, im on about 5 different forums so do a lot of posting. If I am working on anything that is long or even something short that a fair bit of thought is going into then I compose the post in Microsoft word & copy & past it i to the thread. I think we have all lost something before but that works for me. Hope that helps
