  1. Still waiting for a fishing report, never seen one
  2. You still havent described the symptoms of your over heating????????????????????????????????????????????????
  3. Liking your own post......................... If you have a stradic Ci4 in 4000 reel with 8lb line then I think you have under classed the line to the reel as it has an 11kg drag. As @Mr Squidy has suggested, more info needed, that are you targeting?
  4. The car was a 1993 Mazda MX6 2.5L, given the timing it would be a close to a 1 of........................ now 😁
  5. You made me think of the old eye spy game as kids when the old man was trying to keep myself & my brother occupied on those long driving trips 🙂 I here you DD, I look at some of those plates & think..................what the 🤔
  6. Nailed it all though I think it was meant to be one-of, as in one of a kind
  7. Man you need to go fishing more 🤔🤣 I bought I car once & didnt even realise till some told me but the plate was CIM-10F.
  8. Do you know if that ramp at Murray's beach has reopened GH?
  9. You did ask the same questions yesterday in the exsisting thread & while starting a new thread isnt a bad thing the reason I linked other threads to your question was to give you some info & also so you could see who responded. You can send other members a PM as that can get you an answer quicker where sometime you may not get one at all. @Green Hornet Good luck.
  10. Well done Damo, it will be interesting as time goes on for you what conclusions you come to on what SP style & colours work best for you. You did exactly the right thing though, if one is not working then change it & I tend to think what will work in one location may not work as effectively in another. Lots of variations like structure/bottom, water colour, prey type etc But what I have found where I fish is that red/green combination of neuclear chicken catches me 3 to 1 of any other colour.
  11. I was looking for this as well but its not pinned. @mrsswordfisherman neither of these articles seem to be pinned & would probably be a good thing if they were
  12. Sinker?? I dont think so but I am not that experienced either, snap swivel I would again so no but would use a clip. For my basic set up I just went with a cheap Rovex EGI Squid Specialist Spin Rod & a Shimano sienna 2500 reel, 8lb braid & leader. I'd rather spend more on the jigs which I bought a spread from 2.5 to 3.5 in variuos colourss, thats what catches the squid imo.
  13. I think so as well, the water is usually that still & clear over there its pretty hard to fool them. Again well done as its always about fooling the fish right
  14. Welcome aboard. Nice work on those bream, the bream inside the BW are very skiddish & very selective most of the time & can usually only be caught on unweighted prawn. Is that how your father was fishing?
  15. I think that question has been covered within this thread. The other suggestion for the bait would be look through here- https://www.fishraider.com.au/search/?&q=jervis&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy Another tip would be to look at this info- https://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/marine-protected-areas/marine-parks/jervis-bay-marine-park https://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0010/656326/Jervis-Bay-Marine-Park-Zoning-Map-2018.PDF
  16. You can catch a lot of different species of the rocks so depending on the target will depend on the gear & at times 2 set ups could be needed. E.g. Your not often going to land succesfully a 6+kg or metre'y kingfish on 20lb braid unless you going to up the leader significantly & then its a luck game as well. Imo what your descibing to me is a light weighted set up for rocks which allround should be ok but get into some decent fish & you will be toasted pretty quickly, off the beach would be ok. I've been watching some youtubes today where guys are using 80lb braid & 120lb leader of the rocks & still getting toasted! Rocks & beach are 2 different set up imo.
  17. As usual the variables will determine jighead size. Sure if your fishing shallow then the lighter the better but throwing 1/8 into the wind won't get you far either & even moderate tidal flow will mean you won't keep in near the bottom. Can't say I use 1/8th very often myself.
  18. I tend to use Berkley nitro's or saltwater pro's but the tackle tactics jigheads are as good if not better but are just a tadmore expensive. Usually fish anything from 1/4 to 1/2oz in 2/0 or 3/0 usually, sometimes from the boat I will go heavier in a strong drift or current. I have a big mixed bag of plastics & seem to do well with 3 to 5 inch Gulp jerkshads in neuclear chicken but I have been moving over to the Zmans lately due to them not having to be kept in the alive liquid. Almost any SP will catch them, squidgy wrigglers, zman paddle tails, wrigglers etc. That last big girl I dropped out of the net that was nudging 1mtr was caught on a 3" Gulp minnow in pilchard but the water was that dirty it could have been any colour or style I recon. I've also caught 15cm flatties on 7" Gulps as well. When they are aggresive they will try anything that passes by, if you do go to big on the plastic though you end up bringing up a lut of plastic with the back half missing. Good luck JD.
  19. Didnt suggest you were! When there's 10 of you $1200 for 4 hours of fishing isnt what I call cheap for what most charters are which is bottom bashing. Sound like you were lucky to know someone who knew someone that was at the top of thier game but again I think thats a rare thing I've been on a charters out of PS where the deckie & the captain told us not to touch anything until he ok's it Luckily those operators doesnt exist anymore Game fishing on the other hand I would class as a very different kind of charter, you woukd expect to pay $400/500 PP to go out to the shelf I just find them hit & miss, mostly miss & thats why I dont do charters anymore, to many bad experiences & a waste of money..................end of story! On the other hand getting someone who is recommended to you well then that does at least give some confidence & expectationsmore than the average charter.
  20. While they might be a pain D & bow shackles are known to exceed their break rating by up to 5 times so extremely strong for their size. I think I would be using 2 of them over those swivels on a heavy vessel even if they require more maintanace. I have a couple of 4 tonne ones for 4x4 winch recovery's. Not sure how those carabiner clips do?? I think a lot of boaters are just a bit on the lazy side when it comes to those small things.
  21. Yon, you spoke about who's method what your attempt is based on but you haven't explained it or given the details. You basically have stated that your attempting to dry age the whole fish, but If your adding any salt & or sugar then it's still curing or brining essentially. Brining is a good method to impart some flavour & treat flesh prior to cooking or hot/cold smoking. Anyway just my opinion but dry aging is a different process taking some time, talking like weeks here!
  22. Imo I'd be looking a someone who is more a guide rather than a charter operator, to me they are 2 different things. Again my opinion but 95% of charter operators dont want to teach you anything they just want you to catch a few fish of any species to keep you happy & if you ask them you want to target a specific species they will go along even if its the wrong time of year & go to their flathead ground back up plan Im sure there are some good ones out there but I've been on to many that just want the $$ & dont really care to much. Maybe I am just bitter & twisted from over the years being on so many that they really just want your coin @ $120PP & as long as they see you catch a few flathead they think you will be happy no matter your experience Great looking boat by the way @Luko78's dad
  23. Bugger, try this one.
