  2. I love fishing braid but I'm not a fan off the beach. Braid tends to get wind knots & overlaps. Each to their own.
  3. The english wont eat then without Malt vinegar................
  4. Frozen chips are........................frozen chips. @fragmeister like you say, I guess I could make you what I see as the best chip in the world................................blanched in boiling Evian spring water, confit in 120* duck fat then fried in 180* duck fat then dusted with black truffle salt AND then you could still say not as good as McDonalds chips? I guess it come down to what your expectations are from a "chip or fry" But when you have done a potato in 365 different ways you do get to know them Duck fat potato's, truffle salt with some aoli & beef jus is pretty magic but as with anything dining it depends on whole dining experience to. Ive eaten potato's all over the place but eating some humble Canadian Poutine at the top of an 11,000ft snow covered mountain over looking the Canadiann Kootenays then skiing down to the village also creates a memory you cant forget. I guess "the best" in something in hard to caption really 🙂
  5. Penn's now come out China AFAIK, I have one of the last USA made 330GTi's & they just look & feel better that the current versions. I wouldn't say your reel is rare but a great one none the less seeing as they aren't made in the States anymore. Edit: Apparently the Senator & international reels are still USA made, the rest are made in China
  6. At least it wasnt donuts for dinner Im sure the family & your B.I.L appreciated them
  7. I dontknowthe area but you migh tbe able to get more info from some of the guys in this thread- Also this could be worth looking at- https://marinerescuelakemacquarie.com.au/images/public_docs/Fishing_Locations_Matrix.pdf http://www.ozpolitic.com/fish/map-gps-marks-fishing/Swansea-N-New-South-Wales-map-gps-marks-fishing.html
  8. Thats good news hopefully you will hang around as a contributor. We like to see people being part of the community 😉
  9. Its all about the smiles The last comment is good to add as well as flatties are pretty hard to lip grip without damaging at the best of times & definatley not unsupported
  10. All the hunters I see the last section of the bow rail is different where they end in a V down to the point of the bow. Anyway I spent 2 hours doing research, the HIN is generic with no MFCR code. I tried!
  11. Nice effort, great weekend for it
  12. Ok, send us through a picture of your HIN & I will have a dig. It can take hours to search through leads on any available info! So no other markings other than this HIN? No guarantees but I am a half decent internet searcher/investigator given enough time. Otherwise have a nice life 😅
  13. How was your weekend, do any fishing? Don't leave us hanging 😉
  14. I think there is enough there for you to work on. Google is your friend 😉
  15. True, I guess usually someone has at least an old rego certicicate. My old tinny didnt have a HIN & hadnt been registered in about 15 years but when I transfered I had the old rego papers with make/model & would sort of expect when buying a boat the seller would have it. My boat was my fathers anyway so knew all about it & still had the manifactureres plate on it. Bit of a worry if a HIN is put on & there's no rego papers but then again there are some pretty old boats out there that have been messed with/painted & who knows what happens to the HIN if there was one??
  16. Well forget about the bait or the lego, got one better. I can actually still remember when I was a kid fishing inside the breakwall near the back of the co-op at Nelson bay catching slimies with no bait, just a hook. They was a massive school were in there in a frenzy taking anything shiny. End up catching 75 in about 30/40 minutes, great fun, I dont think I even kept any as being a kid of about 10 years old it was just fun catching fish with just a hook That was back in the day when the wall was shorter, used to get dolphins & other creatures in there back then to. I recall @Scratchie saying he had a similar experience when the Kingie cages broke up at Broughton & the kings were just taking the shiny hooks with no bait
  17. Woops, my bad. That makes it way easier then. The 1st 3 letters of the HIN should be the manufacturer code I believe. https://www.ppsr.gov.au/glossary/hin-hull-identification-number Hope that helps 😁
  18. Looks like a pretty newish boat not to have a HIN or ABP. Boats have been required to have a ABP since 2006 & HIN since 2001, of course if was pre that time& it didnt have a HIN from the 1st owner then to get it transfered now it needs to have one fitted! Not sure if its something you need to do prior to selling or up to the buyer post sale, but you will need to check on that with one of these guy's or the RMS https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/maritime/registration/boatcode/boatcode-agents.html Sorry no idea, anything in the bow under the top plate or under the rear stern transom support?
  19. Also to add, as noelm has mentioned hull design is directly associated to how a boat handles various conditions so you need to look at what it is you want the boat to be good at, speed over high seas performance? high seas performance over speed? There are plent of online articles that can steer you in the right direction- https://www.boatsales.com.au/editorial/details/trailerboating-choosing-a-vee-hull-115148/ https://www.boats.com/boat-buyers-guide/boat-hull-shapes-designs-options/ https://www.boatsafe.com/types-boat-hulls/
  20. Go on as many as you can to get a 1st hand feel for them & how they act in different conditions. Also in most cases the boat performance can be altered/improved by installing trim tabs.
  21. No probs. No reason why you couldnt put bread in them but as I am a chef I used to be able bring a heap of fish & seafood offcuts home & chop it all up & mix with bread & tuna oil, freezer in a cylinder shape. I also made those pots so those bought berley logs just fit straight in. I did try the whole dog food pellet thing but they just swell up & dont break down that well.
  22. Looking on satelite the the Ingenia one looks to be in a deeper channel but not sure if its public access. The Yooralla one is at the deep end of the lake but it looks like a little bush track ramp, the trailers & boats using it look larger though!
  23. I dont know the area but this is what I find on google maps.
  24. If catching bait bread works well mixed in a bucket of sea water into a slurry. For attracting other fish I prefer to use either a bought frozen log or a home made version & use in a berley pot which are home made. It's a slow release & will last a few hours usually. After testing these I did make the holes larger. Goog luck.
