  1. Welcome back @ruckley Good to see the next gen coming through. No tapa here mate.
  2. You absolutely could, it just comes down to how much money you have to spend! You only have to look at what is used in scientific research & oceanography. But then when your talking about camera gear in figures they are worth way more than the boats your driving!! While these vids are great to watch I dont see a viable "instant" viewing platform thats affordable for a fishing application. In saying that, nothing is impossible, it just depends on how deep your pockets are!
  3. At lest you know where to put your crab traps from the look of that pretty beach footage. When I try a new spot I do as much research as possible & often get taken to various sites showing footage of whatever I can find for reference. Whats the cost/functionality(max depth etc) of the gear your using?
  4. I know where Pyrmont is, I work in Darling Harbor! I was asking if you consume fish caught west of the bridge?? Nice haul though, sounds like you released them all then. Looking at your post seems the underlying point is to be dont be afraid to try somewhere new! Well done
  5. Not sure if your asking us or telling us? Anyway, have you read this? From what I gather essentially your asking in your OP if what they eat & that they take will change with the seasons? They always say match the hatch but Imo would come down to thier mood or abundance of species & availability for that time if the year. We know they can be taken on a wide range of natural & artificial baits & like many fish have thier moods when one is preferred over the other. People spend a lot of time & energy on collecting live bait to find it's just as easy to catch them at times on SP's. BUT, it's worth covering all your bases & having the options on hand as you never know 'the mood' until your on the spot! It is an interesting question to ask, what effects thier mood when it comes to fishes eating habits whether season or other factors like tide, moon phase or changes in barometric pressure?
  6. Great effort there. So you keep them even though you caught them west of the bridge?
  7. Welcome aboard Brandon. A few of the guys here live in Murray cod country, one is @big Neil & you may have very well been reading some of his posts? That's a cracker you have there Enjoy the site.
  8. People put these sorts of images on their TV's or laptops as screensavers just as idyllic places they would prefer to be from where they are. You might have been blanked but its better than eating donuts looking at this as a screen saver
  9. Nice come back mate 😁 As long as the hearts pounding with anticipation about what's possibly on the end of the line & your smiling on the inside that's all that counts 👌
  10. Totally agree, catching any size fish usually puts a smile on my dial Just getting out there is enough, well done Kyle
  11. Nice! You mean Medicare still send cheque's 🤨
  12. Wow, thats a lot of info! So long story short you getting nearly the same amount output & saving more fuel out of a 50HP less motor than you used to own?
  13. Great report Dave & well done on helping out a fellow raider 👌. I'm sure we will see some gopro footage of the day from James soon enough.
  14. Well done James, you wouldn't think mullet would take sp's!
  15. If I had a $40,000 boat Id definitely have one, then again I have a $40,000 car & dont have one on it. It is food for thought though, the trackers are getting very reasonable now but which one?
  16. Well done on just getting out there Greg. And the last line is the most important part of it imo. Not sure about big, but I'll call it for a foot 🤣
  17. Great effort Pete, gotta be happy with that
  18. A nice mixed bag as usual yowie
  19. Awesome report & pictures. Love the portion vac pacs, always have to save some for a rainy day imo! Great memories there for all the bro's
  20. Throw a dart & just make a choice or just buy both
  21. You have to love real personal world testing over some internet sourced graph or data right? I know @JonD would be fishing some of the biggest fish out there & I have total respect but at the end of the day isnt it about the perfection in the knot tying that we need to be talking about? I am a FG convert for a while now, bought the knot assistant 2.0 to help me get it perfected. At the end of the day I have never had a knot failure, either the braid breaks at some point or the leader. Whether one is 4% better over the other means nothing if you don't tie it correctly!!!
  22. Did you speak to someone in the council about it Derek & actually find out their policy on boat parking ?
  23. I just wish I could be half as lucky as your worst day Jeff 😢😢😢......................................🤣
  24. I only use a Bimini double now for heavier gear, open water trolling & when using a wind on leader. But now reading the lower comments just use a heavier leader imo
  25. @blahblah Just a suggestion but use google maps or google earth to look at the ramps. Satellite & if possible street view. I do it all the time. While you cant tell how slippery they are you can tell if its a decent ramp by just looking at it, whether there are pontoons, how many lanes etc!!
