  1. @jeffb5.8 All I can say to that is I hope you have not been out to sea & not logged into your local marine rescue service?? Regardless you should imo still have it on, in case there is a PAN PAN or a MAYDAY! Marine radio's are not just for when you feel like using them, but also for others to contact anyone else when they are in trouble! You actually might need to rescue some one some day, & if your radio is off well that doesnt help anyone... https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/maritime/using-waterways/navigation-communication/radio-network-services.html https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/maritime/safety-rules/incidents-emergencies/communication-and-rescue.html
  2. Very nice, sounds like you might have blown your $8K budget though Not that there's anything wrong with that πŸ˜…
  3. Nice trip & report, except for the ride home by the sounds of it. I think I would be hurting for days with a return tip like that!
  4. Well done, I think the king catch rate from squid to yakkas if like 2 to 1 so on most days it's the best bait to have. Im sure the little bloke & dad enjoyed just getting some quality time together. Catching a fish is a bonus.
  5. Looks great Zoran πŸ‘Œ The marinade sounds fantastic! I love the use of the wings to, they are such an underrated part of the fish, just like the cheeks. Thanks for sharing
  6. I've tried to do as much research as I can for you but if the manufacturer cant even tell you then its a pretty hard to call it. The number usually tell the story, like 10th month but then you get 41, its obviously not from 1941! Are you just curious or is it for rego? Im sure you can get it re registered without the year, they will just take the info you have & put a new VIN plate on it.
  7. Every fish counts Every inch counts You were out in the sunshine & the sea breeze enjoying the day, that counts more than anything πŸ˜‰
  8. I was wondering what that was. Ive eaten ling, its been tender & then its been as tough as an old boot. I guess its a but like tuna where it has sinew lines running through it, especially towards the end of the tail??
  9. Very nice, any idea what they've got there Jon?
  10. Im glad to hear I don't feel like Im the only one then 😁
  11. You forgot my cycle size which is usually 20-25cm. Caught a 1000 of the b!@#ards πŸ˜…
  12. I think that 'technical thing' is called skill mate πŸ˜‰ I'll show you how to land the magic metery in September, whiskers father. But I think I might have to use 30lb leader, due to my lack of skill 🀣
  13. Each to their own with pinkies & reddies like that size but I just cook them whole, you get everything off them that way.
  14. Thats an absolute pearler Jeff, congrats. Does that better your PB/record? How do you know its whiskers? I would have thought if it was whiskers you'd have found some of your old jigheads still attached to him 😜😝😁 Im still surprised you can bring a fish like that in with 20lb!
  15. That's a nice red for inside the bay, great lizard as well
  16. YyAs you say keep them in a mesh bag closer to you in the main body of water!
  17. There's one in Malabar for sale, just tell them your interested & want to have a look at it. https://www.boatsales.com.au/boats/details/1996-haines-hunter-520sf/SSE-AD-6379192/?Cr=2
  18. You need to try & give is more details like length of the boat, A picture of the boat-someone could identify the model & that could give a better ballpark year Is this the only other piece of identification, no model stickers etc?? I know O stands for runabout its what the 1041 means? Savages have been around for 122 years & were bought by Telwater in 2008 so not surprised Telwater dont have the info. How did you get the info you already have like where is was made & the approx year??
  19. Yep, they are very easy to put on & cheap insurance.
  20. Sorry dude couldn't help myself. I now see that your 14 years old & after a bit of help, I can relate to that but you need to give a bit more info. Land based, boat based etc. I dont know the area that well but there is a lot of info in here on the whole Hawkesbury area to read so you just need to be a bit proactive. If you want to catch bait, then look for protected areas, even structure like pylons/peers etc Jews like holes & areas where eddies form. Flathead, catch then pretty much anywhere. But at the end of the day what I said does ring true, do your research on individual species habitats, rigs, baits etc but at the end of the day you just got to get out there, scope the waters & throw a line in give it a try. Use the search tab here to get specific areas & info, just like google. I see you have already asked the same question- Just do some reading mate, the reality is we cant do all the work for you. If your looking for a fishing mate for guidance then maybe put a post in here https://www.fishraider.com.au/forum/72-adopt-a-learner/ Good luck @Burtos fishing
  21. Only if you have a line in the water πŸ™„
  22. Just tell the missus your taking her away to PS for your 40th anniversary 😝 And when she asks you where you were for the last 6 hours on Saturday, just tell her you were searching for the right gift πŸ’πŸ’ŽπŸ‘ πŸ‘œπŸ’„πŸ“ΏπŸ˜
  23. Get in touch or have a look through LBK's posts, he almost fishes solely in that area. https://www.fishraider.com.au/profile/44165-landbasedkeith/content/
  24. Im sure there is enough time to give notice & make changes to the rosters Baz 😁 Plenty of time to get the chores done for the missus to 😜 Looking forward to catching up with everyone & put faces to the names
  25. Nice effort there, your neighbors must love you πŸ˜‰
