Take the plugs out and keeping leads on turn motor over you should be able to see a spark and while it's nothing on a proper car by rebuild get a can of carburetor cleaner and give it a good spray

Get a manual or look it up online it's a very easy thing to replace

That's the oil I've used for 25 years no problem but you still have the chance it won't mix with whatever oil you used before saying that if you dumped old fuel mix you should be ok

If the foam is falling apart may be better to get rid of on the small chance some could find it's way into the carby.as said before don't change oil brands unless you have to I've used the same brand of oil for 25 yrs

Hey well done I was out on Friday but a late start around 10 30 found keepers in about 50 -60 mtrs got a few cudas as well but don't want the stinky buggers in the boat

Hoods just wondering how fuel pump change works .I saw on my tohatsu m 40 pump it has a blank over 1 of 2 ports I imagine that can be removed for use on larger motor

Try not to change oil brands lots won't mix together and cause gumming (blocking)of the fuel system stay with one brand

Hey mate may be old fuel not burning properly try fresh mix pull the plugs and see if there oiled up first

Ok so after a brain fart got new head gasket. There was some pitting on the head from saltwater so used head from old spare motor went to do that first time and tried to put thermostat housing on different from newer motor place I got gasket had older thermostat cover all good.went out today from parsley bay to target blue spots wind was terrible nothing like report crap fishing but motor run great I have a twin setup and motor I bought new never missed a beat other motor was a bargain about 5 years ago so do expect some problems

Had my by 2500 start to play up pulled side cover off and broken inside will not pay $200 for a small reel again

Hi don't know much about Parsons but new motor compared to unknown used I'd look at new I think people get to hung up on brands .parson has been around for years now don't seem to be any major problems also being 2 stroke easy to work on

Ha ha was actually easy expected seized bolts but no dramas

Pulled head off gasket blown have changed just waiting for glue to dry before testing cheers

Checked plugs looked ok

Hi all ongoing saga with tohatsu mc40 has been running rough .steam coming out of exhaust relief idont know how to check correct operation of that have removed thermostat and replaced impeller .talking to mechanic he thinks maybe head gasket blown any thoughts before I take head off as gaskets $80 thanks

Yeah wasn't only battery terminal loose also cleaned all electrical terminals

After cleaning terminals motor stalls when lead off hopefully fixed but need water test to make sure
