  1. Oh Noelm I'm not that tight I normally have everything organised so I don't need to stop anywhere
  2. I keep old plastic juice bottles of water in the bait freezer always have ice that way and I suppose in an emergency you could drink it as well
  3. Looks beautiful that's what life is about
  4. Yesterday headed out from parsley bay ramp around 5am not as busy as I thought it would be plenty of parking. Weather report was for no wind but windy early started at palm beach headland for 1 small snapper.wind died down around 8 so ventured out to try for a feed of blue spot flathead .started at 130 ft for not much so kept going deeper as far as 160 ft Mark picked up 4 keepers at 140 Mark on paternoster rigs using pillies heaps of toadfish about and had too use sea anchor .nice to be out on the water again not the greatest fishwise but a feed regardless
  5. Squash the bread into a ball and try to leave a bit hanging off the side that's not squashed to act as a kind of berley and use wet bread as a berley as well
  6. Prawns from fish shop shouldn't be used for bait as there imported and can bring disease to local stocks .it's not worth the risk to save a few bucks
  7. He'll I've broken left leg twice right leg once split the bones in 3 fingers lengthwise in a crushing incident at work and the bloody boat trailer fell onto my foot only a broken toe but resulted in surgery and a three night stay in hospital..I can't remember the amount of stitches I've had but bloody construction is taxing on the body
  8. Well done mate not a metre but still a great fish
  9. Also make sure you leave at least 50mm around edges to fibreglass to making sure each layer goes further out than the last
  10. I had to do mine from outside as the glass was damaged and no it doesn't look as new but it's a 1978 hull ( I think) so has battle scars all over it .I wanted strength not pretty. It's purely a fishing boat.
  11. Not the same motto but I tell myself on a difficult day that just 1 good fish can change your day
  12. Mate I'm trying to inspire confidence not scare the crap out of you
  13. I done mime from back I had no choice as the fibreglass was badly cracked(I have a twin setup and nearly lost a motor and half the transom offshore),maybe get something to practice on before you start if you use ply make sure you sandwich glass between sheets
  14. Is it only the pod section that needs fixing?
  15. Mate if you know your way around basic tools it's not that hard but messy and time consuming. Find as much info as you can you will be fine I done my floor and transom about 6 yrs and all good

  17. Great photos looked like a great time your stepdaughter looks stoked.i remember taking kiwi girlfriend now wife camping fishing at Cox,s river with stepdaughter and 1 of her friends a snake went straight between her feet lots of screaming and swearing.my elder daughter reeled in a flathead I had done all the hard work on hooking on a houseboat in the hawkesbury river around 7 yrs ago went about a metre and she is still telling everyone how good a fisherperson she is but hasn't been since
  18. Can you get a yearly pass I used to do that for bobbin head (national park)
  19. Being a bit of a tightarse myself I looked at cranka crabs but got put off by the price so got the soft plastic crabs instead. I lost the first packet somewhere before really tried them out properly have bought more but tend to fish in deeper water has anyone else tried them a much cheaper option
  20. Mate you need to be more specific that is a huge area you are talking about do you have your own transport.there is km of beaches to choose from and rivers and estuaries definitely don't go rock fishing solo .in the harbour there's plenty of wharves and public areas to fish from the wharf can be a great place to learn the basics and plenty of quality fish there good luck
  21. Hopefully something will be done about it and if a company prosecuted I can remember going across de burghs bridge on lane cove river 40 odd yrs ago a factory always had a milky colour on the river behind it .I think it was something to do with bread so may not have been toxic but looked dodgy
  22. When and where was this bloody disgrace
  23. Yes mate prices are unbelievable because they are .run away as fast as you can
  24. Hey mate I think you need to take it to a mechanic you trust to have a look surely your usual bloke would have noticed if it was wrong shaft size
