  1. Congrats on the new kayak! If i was to upgrade my kayak the outback would be at the top of my list, exciting times!
  2. My wife is the same. Haven't have much of a chance to go with work and a few personal things popping up. I did have a go a few weeks ago but no luck with wind making the drift too fast. Had another chance last Monday but with conditions so good opted to go to Towra Point to flick around some plastics for flatties. Managed to get a few fish for a feed.
  3. That's a nice session you had there. Lots of bait for some awesome sessions as the weather warms up. I enjoy the whole bait collecting, storing and using process too. Love the glad wrap over the kitchen bench, that's a great idea that im going to steal. Very Dexter like.
  4. Nice report. Next session I think you'll find fresh squid properly treated and frozen make a great bait as yowie suggested.
  5. Sounds Like an awesome trip. Congrats on retirement, I'm sure there will be many more trips lined up!
  6. My goodness that fish is a monster. Given how often you catch them, you must eat a lot of fish or have a huge family! Must have some killer recipes too.
  7. Great report! Part of the joy of fishing is the journey and the adventure. Your report definitely highlighted that. Catching crabs on your first go isn't bad at all. The first time I took my wife fishing we went to a wharf in the hacking. She was using a handline and felt something heavy...turns out it was a dinner size plate!
  8. Shame about your allergies. One of my fears is that it'll happen to me. My son is allergic to fish, I hope he can grow out of it or he'll be a catch and release fisherman...or He can feed his dad 😅
  9. You have definitely cracked the code. Doing it consistently on a kayak too is very impressive
  10. Awesome report and bream. That's a memory that's going to be burned into your nephew for when he grows up.
  11. Used to fish there a lot when I was kid with my family. Have been back a few times since and it does produce at time but definitely always crowded
  12. Haha love the report. Sounds like you guys had a blast.
  13. Tried yakkas as sashimi once, tasted pretty good. Would try it again. Haven't had it within hours of catching though. This article may also help https://www.seriouseats.com/how-to-prepare-raw-fish-at-home-sushi-sashimi-food-safety
  14. Haha love the report, makes me feel not too bad about catching too small flatties and catching a cold in the process when I went out last Sunday.
  15. Sounds like an awesome trip, looking forward to the photos. All these weipa reports are making me want to go!
  16. Nice looking squid and a big one thrown in.
  17. Nice few sessions there and good on ya for giving the jackets to the neighbours
  18. Nice report. I'm planning to go out this weekend as the weather looks like it'll hold up. Your report does bode well for my potential catch rate but it'll be nice to be out regardless!
  19. Awesome report. Despite the rain, I'm sure it was great to be out there to decompress from the daily stresses. Your son is still so keen even with all that rain, I can only hope my son will be like that when he grows up!
  20. Looks like an awesome trip. Thanks the report, all these reports to great places definitely keeps the mind off work and the poor weather here.
  21. How do the salmon go as bait? Surprised to hear the water has cleared up...I wonder how long that'll last with this bout of rain though.
  22. Looks and sounds like such a magical place! Definitely echo others here, jealous!
  23. Between long hours at work and the bad weather rolling back in I haven't been able to have a fish at all. A really nice bag of whiting you got over the last couple of sessions. Looks delicious!
